Going to either OVS with EMS or Campus with full A3
m0bov replied to m0bov's topic in Licensing Questions
Hi, I don't think we need that so I think we will stick to Campus. I can't find a disadvantage to the Campus model, other than needing an OS license with the PCs when we purchase them. -

Hi guys, where does CSP fit into all this? So many options! -

Hi, Our supplier added the server and SQL licenses, remote desktop/RDP etc... so that's all good. What about using SCCM and imagining? I hear we can't use volume keys/KMS to activate? Is there any issue with how we deploy machines and a new license agreement? Thanks! -

Thanks for the feedback Steve. So you still get access to the MS license portal for ISOs and keys as usual? -
Hi all, I have seen a few other threads about this. We are using A1 at the moment on OVS, but we are using a lot of InTune now and want P1 Azure for online password changes. We also want RMS on Sharepoint. We have a choice of either staying on OVS and adding in the extra (EMS) to get what we want. Or sign up with Chest and go for the full A3 under a Campus agreement. I've been told that if we go for Campus, we can't access windows licenses keys for desktops, we need to use the license the machines come with (BIOS activated). We do buy machines with a Pro license anyway. The Campus is quite a bit cheaper. Any pit falls to doing this? How long does it take to get the Chest and Campus agreement up and running? Really appreciate any feedback from those that have done this before. Thanks!

Hi guys, we have had Office365 and Teams etc... setup here for some years now. We are a large high school and use Frog alongside Teams for homework and remote learning. We want to drop Frog and use Teams for marking and homework assignments. I'm not a teacher and I don't know much about Teams as far as teaching and learning. I have approached many companies and even local schools but have drawn a blank. Does anyone know of a good consultant, maybe ex teacher who can train and inspire the school on the use of Teams and Office365/sharepoint in general? There's plenty of schools shouting about Google, but nobody will talk to us about Teams! Thanks!

We get random reports where students say they have saved their work, the OneDrive icon shows its syncing, but their work is not there and not in the recycle bin. We checked OneDrive is up to date, any other ideas? Thanks.

Thanks guys for all the info. Our primaries want to use Google instead of O365, all very useful stuff. Thanks again!

Cheers for that, we already have accounts populated in their Workspace using LGFL's USO. So its all synced. inc their e-mail So i could drop an alias in Workspace and they can log in and continue to use abc.la.sch.uk for e-mails? Thanks for the other link, I'll have a read.

Hi guys, we have a school that's been using gsuite for a few years now. They have http://www.abcprimary.org.uk, but they have been using Office 365 and Outlook with their abc.la.sch.uk domain. They now want to go Google 100% so will be using gmail, so to avoid changing their addresses, what's the best way to their gsuite working on abc.la.sch.uk ? Their local Ad does'nt use any of these domains. Alias? Migrate from their .org.uk to sch.uk domain?? Thanks!

Sounds good, yes that's what I'm thinking, if Exchange goes down here, its the end of the world. Thanks for the info. - - - Updated - - - Lol!!!

We use Salamander as well and of course SIMS. We have AD all on prem, I tend to need to edit the proxy address attribute from time to time I think. Can't think of what else.

Hi guys, we are looking at moving from our Exchange 2016 on prem hybrid to Office 365. The mailboxes are stored on site and we find the whole system quite buggy and high maintenance. We also found the performance of Teams poor sometimes which is comes to using the calendar. We've been recommended a move to our tenant for all e-mails. We don't want to have to deal with the mail server stopping, patching and all the other bugs and security risks that go with it. Would this be a good move? The school wants to ensure the money they fund for this would mean we get a very reliable, secure and fast system. Anyone got experiences of this? How common is it for schools to use Office365 for Exchange? Thanks.

TEAMS - allowing students to see previous years work
m0bov replied to m0bov's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
We use Salamander, never archived anything before but will ask the question! If its archivied, does that then keep the permissions in place for the student into the new term? If so, that could be why, we've never archived. -
Hi all, simple question, hopefully a simple fix! We have TEAMS of course at our high school, they are all populated via SIMS/Salamander. However, in Sept a few students complained they couldn't see their 2020-2021 classwork. Now we need to ensure everyone can, any simple fix? I have not yet googled it or spoken with MS, just wondered if anyone here has already dealt with that. Thanks James
