Office 365 ProPlus free for staff from 1st dec 2014
ellsandell replied to Marshall_IT's topic in Cloud Services
Yes, you need to go to ask your reseller to add the licenses to your agreement. -
Thanks for that Paul. Yeah we are looking at in house due to the cost of hosting our site externally (100+ Gb of storage currently). Would prefer to clear off the old data/courses/users at the same time. Any estimations on costs? Will Give Phil an email see what he says.

Could anyone share their Staff and Pupil AUP`s?
ellsandell replied to maxrebo's topic in School ICT Policies
Would you mind sharing with me too? -
Just ask your reseller, they should be able to sort that out. We had the same with our new agreement this year.

Has anybody successfully exported the User Data and course data from the CLEO backups to a newer version of Moodle? Reason I ask is we are due to bring Moodle onsite, since we are planning to move away from BTSLS/ it becoming a chargeable addon. and I have heard its a pain to do because of the way LUNS customized it? How populated are the servers?

Yeah we use dirsync, but to have single sign on without the need for adfs would be great.

Windows 10 business users will be able to access Azure Active Directory | Windows Central Windows 10: Manageability Choices Obvious benefit to those using Office 365, be interesting to see how this would be achieved, whether it requires infrastructure like ADFS or is completely separate.

Office 365 subscribers to get unlimited OneDrive storage
ellsandell replied to Arthur's topic in Cloud Services
Don't think the Onedrive for business is good enough to do this yet, but I think if they built the a way of mirroring local storage (User Files) with the could we would probably opt for that. Would also need a better way of managing user files stored. Like all data hosted with Microsoft as long as its covered by he safe harbor agreement, I can't see it being too much of an issue. I do think encryption is a must however. -
Powershell is the only current option that i'm aware of. I know they are changing the way the product works/ can be licensed when they release the Staff licenses in December. How have you found the other aspects, i.e. support? Elliot

Hi Dave we have actually had a quote through from you guys. Have sent you a PM. Well its now BT Lancs (formally OneConnect), as we are currently using non prescribed ranges we can't use the full AD integrated product. Currently under them having a rocket onsite costs (or did when I asked) and since its fairly expensive anyway were not really interested in spending anymore money with them. (that and the very poor support/service we generally get from them) The URL shorter issue is that we have had many of the generally used URL shortner services blocked (whether it be by BT Lancs or Lightspeed) which has caused a few educational tools to stop working as they like to use said services. Plus using sites like twitter etc which use them very often. When attempting to get a site unblocked, or category changed we have been met with a flat "No" and the only option we have is to try and use the review option on the Lightspeed site - which is about as useful as...

Good to see them trying to protect the front-line staff rather than the higher paid execs etc. (or so they say anyway)
-
Cheers will take a look. Do you pay for the Netsweeper addon aswell? How does it handle filtering day-to-day? Were less interested in a Lightspeed type centralized system as we want full control. As one of our biggest problems is having no control over certain categorizes (Such as URL Shortners etc) I have tried contacting Exa before using the contact form on the website but heard nothing... Would be interested in hearing some more details?

That's in the users section in the O365 admit panel with one user selected. You might be better using a powers hell script however if you have to change a lot of users - plenty of examples on here.

If you just want the Email and nothing else just want to remove the other parts of the license and just leave "Exchange Online".
