Set up my new machine with 64bit windows 8.1. All drives mapped fine in My PC Ran Simsinst from Sims shared drive. Cannot find S: for shared folders. Bodge it by putting shared folders on local drive but then cannot see Sims drive for connect.ini What have I missed??? With all the panic of the first day back I had to revert to my old machine!!!

Hi all April 1st is on its way and we have budgeted for a new Sims/FMS server What are peoples recommendations for the best spec We are a 700 student Secondary who make extensive use most aspects of the software Thanks for your thoughts

We use Sims marksheets to provide each teacher with grades and comments about the students in their class It would be really useful if, say in a comment field, we could have a hyperlink to key documents about the student eg IEP Documents could be held on a shared drive, or on a webserver etc and are currently in word files Is this possible? If not is anyone aware of a direct way of letting staff access IEPs etc for their class Staff have found identifying SEN students from their marksheets and then having to navigate to each ones linked documents or a shared folder containing all IEPs a barrier to using them. If this isn't currently possible would Capita consider it as paid for feature request for us? Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Works like a dream. Much appreciated Is it possible to add a custom sort list. So I could include my Btec Pass, merit grades etc as equal to C,B etc

For the current best 8 measure we want to see what grades will currently count in a students best 8 in order Although we realise these grades will be without context ie subjects it would help us plan interventions if we could see which grades are below target I can get point scores in order from Sims using the Max function and could even convert back to grades using lookup. I create a large spreadsheet with rows for each student and columns for each subject containing their current estimated grade coloured as to whether it is above or below their target in that subject I want to sort that list - keeping the colours - so the columns show their best to worst grade (subject not needed) I can do it for one row at a time Anyone know of a macro or code that would do all 150 rows????

Dear All To support literacy we have bought a selection of texts which we want students to be able to borrow and read at home. This area is separate to the main library We need some simple software where we can log in/out when students borrow books and provide a list of unreturned books Anyone any suggestions???

All i was trying to do was to run a marksheet that uses nested else ifs to add colours to the grades awarded so these can be displayed in an individual report. What is my 'affinity'?

Hi All Running Sims on dedicated SQL server, SQL 2008, Server 2003 Trying to run some quite complicated marksheets and getting frustrated at speed Looked at task manager and Pulsar is only using 1 core on my dual core machine. Tried on a quad core workstation and yet again only using 1 core with cpu usage never going over 25% Is this right?

To try and clear cache I set size of each cache in cache configuration to 0 Now all drives have disappeared from cache configuration - drives - properties so can't put cache back. All drives are NTFS and are healthy Machine is server 2003 Any ideas ????

Have set up contact form in Joomla 1.5 On EMBC network so use their smtp settings all works fine providing email from field is on a domain hosted by them. Any other accounts eg @sky.com @hotmail.co.uk it will not relay Thought about using other smtp server external to EMBC but firewall block ports Senders email could go in comment box but how do I hide the from email address input box and have it default to an EMBC address Any ideas?????

Trying to get a decent bulk colour printer for our arts/admin area Estimate of use 2500 colour + 2900 b/w per month Quote 1 - a 5 yr lease £400 per month inclusive of prints for a Ricoh 820DN Quote 2 - Pay only for toners at £600 per set with a min of 2 sets per year for a kyocera taskalpha 300 with a colour set doing 12,000 copies and a black 20,000 Am I missing something? What do I have to watch in these deals? Some of these printing/copier companies seem a bit sharp??? Thanks
