We have a very similar setup here, we have got round it by using impero, The teacher simply shares their screen with the pupil in questions laptop and they can zoom in as required. This works well and there is a version of impero for ipad but i'm unsure if it can do this yet.

we have bloxx and they've been good, cant comment on price or things like that however its easy to alter filtering , block or allow sites when needed and their support has been very helpful when we have needed it. if you need any specific information I will try and answer any questions you have.

within the bios we have separate options for magic packet and WOL as two different things, with WOL on and magic packet off our machines dont boot on their own.

we left WOL, for exactly the same reason we use impero however we turned of magic packet.

We had the same issue here, unfortunately I cannot remember the exact details however i know that we changed something in the bios of out Lenovo's to stop magic packets. we also had a similar thing on a dell, same thing if remember correctly. what hardware have you got? if i get chance I will have a look at one and try get you a better answer.

Its a case of we don't currently have a screensaver or any time or inclination to make one. I will have a play with setting a black screen saver and will have to check the power settings.

Is it possible to set this policy for locking computers and not have a screen saver? we don't have one at the moment and don't really want one however we do want to lock after a period of inactivity.

Hello, Tech working in a School in Shropshire, been lurking for a while, some really good information on here and I have plenty of questions to post in future.

Hello. we are having a very strange issue here, as of Monday this week users are, at times unable to type anything into website text input boxes, ie google, argos, ect. when they try to type instead of appearing in the intended box the text appears in the browser url box. we only use ie9 here to I have been unable to try it with any other browser and this is only affecting students and staff ou's not admins we have not made any change to any GPO, and when the user is taken out of all GPO's the problem appears to be resolved. I hope someone has seen this before because everyone we speak have spoken to so far has not seen anything like it.
