Permissions all correct on folders. It has to be our profile as that's the only thing I changed! - - - Updated - - - I have now gone over the profile by creating a new one. This seems to work for my test student but is taking 100 seconds to load! The ntuser.man is only 1 .1 Mb so I'm doubly stumped now!

Our mandatory profile broke last week and was taking ages to log on. So I created a new profile using Mandatory Profiles Solution for Windows 7 | K-5 Computer Lab However some users cannot now save documents once they have created them in word? Having looked at this article "Word could not create the work file" error message when you save a document in Word 2013, Word 2010 or in Office Word 2007 I appear to need to change something in IE temp files! Has anyone else had this? Thanks

Hi All, We currently have a support contract with our Local Authority. We are trying to find a smaller, cheaper replacement. The current contract is for 60 hours of technician time or support but we don't really need the technician time so end up using just a few hours. I don't want to get rid of support altogether for if we have a server disaster or something similar it is great to be able to shout "HELP" and know you are not alone. We are currently looking at a company who provide banks of hours of support for about £450 for seven hours of support. I have heard that MS offer something similar but don't know a lot about it! Does anybody else use something similar and if so could they suggest any companies. Thanks

Sorry, also if I were to get a second netgear switch later, could I set up the same VLAN ID and add the ports on that new switch to the same ID. Or am I getting this totally wrong?

Hi, We have just had a couple of CCTV cams installed on a new netgear switch (fs728tp) and now I'm wondering if it would be better if they were on a VLAN? The CCTV installers who fitted the whole kit a while back told me that they wouldn't affect our network but I'm not sure that is true. Leaving aside if they are right or wrong my system is as follows. One switch with the CCTV server and the CCTV cameras and one connection back to our main switch cab. I have never had any VLAN experiences before but could I somehow set the cams and the CCTV server up on one, leave the connection going back to the main switch cab off the vlan or is there more to it than that?? Hi All, We have some new PCs and as a result I need to tweak our master image. However I think it may have been sysprepped 3 times so I'm concerned that we cannot use our lovely image as it is. Does anyone know how I can get round the maximum three syspreps? Thanks

I am currently trialling importing our students on to our office365 using ADFS and dirsync. All imports fine but they go in with the wrong domain in their email address. Is there a way to set the correct one by default?

Hi All, We are trying to upload a dreamweaver site to an ubuntu box but failing! We use a user whop is a member of the www-data group but we still get premission denied after the pages have been uploaded. If we then change the pag owber to www-data:www-data the page then works? Can anyone let em know where we are going wrong? Thanks

One more question! If I delete a user from AD will the user go into deleted users and allow me to recover it again? Also, make this two questions, does it take quite a while to sync? I have run sync and changes have not shown about 30 minutes later.

So do you just sync your OU with group in?

Can you sync mail group using dirsync as well?

Did you sort this out? My users are all going on with the wrong domain @prentonhighschoolco.onmicrosoft.com instaed of @prentonhighschool.co.uk I'm not sure what to change in my AD to fix this!!

That's an interesting point. We do have all our staff already on, using the same naming convention for log on name and email address (well bit before the @ anyway) Anyway I'm not going to do it today as OFTSTED inspection probably takes priority!

So just to clarify, by installing I'm not going to immediately change everybody's password?!?!

I really want to install the Directory Synch tool Install or upgrade the Directory Sync tool on our domain to synchronise our users and password BUT my one worry is will it hit them all in one go or can I switch users over gradually? I don't want to suddenly have everyone coming and telling me that they can't get onto their email, but I do want to install it and get used to it before I start synching. Has anyone else used this who can let me know if it is an all or nothing adventure? Thanks

We use it. We have teachers who have all their courses on it, ART and MFL, and departments who use the bare minimum. Our ICT department do all their homeworks through it and love the marking and gradebooks. It is all down to the individual teachers and how hard SMT push it really.

Hi, It's that time of year again we we are looking at replacing about 100 computers. the last lot we bought/leased were lenovo m90z all in ones. They have served us well but they are no longer in production. They are i5 with 4 GB of RAM. I'm trying to find them for about £500 per machine max. Does anybody else buy all-in-ones? Cheers

I have been asked to buy a windows 8 tablet, with keyboard, for a new ICT teacher who will need to teach dreamweaver amongst other things. I'm worried that the adobe package takes up loads of space when installed! I'm just glad I have not been asked to get him an iPad to teach it. Can anyone suggest anything along these lines? thanks

Hi, My ex colleague set up our macs ages ago to run a script at login through workgroup manager. I now want to change that script as it references folder locations that I want to change. however I cannot for the life of me find the actual script on the macs! Looking at workgroup manager it doesn't give a location just login.sh. Is there a way to tell what is running when an AD user logs on to the mac to enable me to find this script? Thanks
