  1. teams.microsoft.com *.teams.microsoft.com *.skype.com etc There is a website with all the links you need to whitelist and put in either your trusted sites or internet sites.
  2. Have you put the URL's in your site to zone assignment list, under 'Internet'??
  3. We have all the sites whitelisted, don't think it is proxy as it works in Chrome and the desktop app. Done a few more investigations and it seems specific to Windows 10 build 1703 as it works fine on 1511 and 1607.
  4. We have been using Teams for a quite a while now and all was fine but recently we can only access it by using Chrome or the client install. We just get D'oh! Something went wrong on the screen. We run Smoothwall, Windows 10 but don't think it can be proxy as it works fine in Chrome and the desktop client.
  5. Sorry but have to disagree with you there. How many schools really utilise the full interactive functionality of an interactive whiteboard. The Epson's work great as an interactive whiteboard.
  6. Epson EB-450wi Ultra short throw interactive projector. No need for Smartboards any more just need a white wall.
  7. Hi Frazzle, we have setup exactly the scenario that you are looking at. Using Windows server 2016 you can setup Remote Desktop Services as Session hosts. This will give your users a virtual remote desktop with all the software that you install onto the servers. We have ours setup so that we have a Gateway and connection broker server then 2 sessions hosts. We use mandatory profiles for logging in and the same group policy as logging into our internal Windows 10 computers. When logging in to the RDS desktop it looks pretty well the same as if you are using a workstation in school. We have all our staff and students using it. Give the session hosts a good bit of ram. Quick video to assist you
  8. I think you might have an issue with your installer as we have Office 2016 32 bit installed on over 500 Windows 10 64bit 1703 workstations.
  9. On a technical side of how to achieve it, put the trusted connect.ini in the SIMS.net (ConnectionType=TrustedAuto). Then in Sims, System Manager, Manage users, and on the Login details change the login to the Active Directory username and that will then give you SSO for SIMS.Net. With regards to the policy of using it will be dependent on each schools security policy. Some schools will some won't.
  10. Depending on how you created your default profile could still link to the old server. Had this a couple of time where the reference is still in the .dat file.
  11. Is there a reference to the old file server in the local default profile. Open the .dat file with reg edit and check for references to old file server.
  12. We run 800 workstations running Windows 10 and only use Windows server 2012 but have downloaded the latest April Windows 10 1703 ADMX files and everything works fine, even disabling Cortana, so I don't think it is correct that you need Server 2016 DC's to implement your group policies for Windows 10.
  13. On my Windows 10 1703 the Network Explorer icon shows above the settings icon on the start menu items. When a student clicks on it then the Network explorer opens. Is there anyway of removing this or blocking it?
  14. Yea just followed that. Start menu now works but only partially on first logon then on second logon all works fine??
  15. So you create a mandatory profile, but don't rename to .dat file to .man. Do you then replace the local default profile with the mandatory profile you just created?
  16. And your Start menu works fine?
  17. OK so we upgraded to Windows 10 last summer on 1511. Now want to go to 1703 this summer. Have run the 1703 upgrade and it breaks the Start Menu. So tried creating a new default profile following the same procedure as we did on 1511 and everything works fine apart from the start menu does not even appear. Even on a fresh install. Has anybody got an updated guide on creating a local default profile that they have used on 1703?
  18. In a school, Education. Look at the side by side comparison with Enterprise and their is hardly any difference. LTSB if you are going to rebuild every couple of years.
  19. We did use it for rolling out Windows 10 Cumulative updates but then they only allowed the Enterprise version to roll out when we only have the pro version. But it worked very well, actually far better than WSUS. We have only been able to use a credit card to purchase.
  20. I was going to go up to 1703 from 1511 during the Summer but not now. Everything seems to be going worse. 1511 is so stable for me on everything but 1703 can't get the local profile to work, login background now works but only on a fresh build not on an upgrade, and the start menu now doesn't work. Anybody got a good definitive guide to creating a default profile for local use on Windows 10, seem to have lost mine.
  21. Well, downloaded the latest 1703 ISO from VLSC. Built a fresh image with just 1703 on it. Did Windows updates from Microsoft online and not WSUS which brought it up to date with the latest CU. Placed an image in C:\Windows\Web\Screen and changed group policy to reflect it. Only applied the 'Force a specific default lock screen and logon image' policy under 'Computer Configuration'. All I get is a Microsoft default blank blue screen, as soon as I remove the policy it goes back to the standard Microsoft Cave photo so I know the policy is being applied. Did exactly the same on a 1607 workstation and all works fine. Latest 1703 policies also uploaded to Active Directory. Come on Microsoft stop appeasing to the home users and give corporate users some support.
  22. Still no joy. Image is showing in the preview, group policy is applied correctly, reg entry removed correctly but still showing single colour.
  23. Have tried the fix on 3 computers with 1703 on but I only get a single colour screen after applying.
  24. Looks like the update has been delayed as it was not released.
  25. We went full 100% Windows 10 last year on 1511. Now they are saying that 1511 will go end of life late 2017 but version 1703 still has loads of issues. We do not have any issues with 1511. The main issues seem to have come from 1607 and 1703. Still waiting for fixes on 1703 before we can re-build a new image for that. I think the option of LTSB even though it is missing a few features might be looking a good option.
