Morning @DavePa. I can now confirm we can supply a version of our tablet with the digitizer pen included and palm rejection for signing digital documents, and integrated 3G, so can now meet all of your original requirements. Cheers, Col
-
Yeah I guess if you're a school access to Office 2013 can be cheap but it doesn't come preloaded on Windows. There's no digitizer pen bundled with it until July time when the Haswell version is released but it works with any off the shelf stylus and there is a built in slot to accommodate one. I'm at £390 for an 11.1" 10 point multitouch tablet with Dual core Celeron 2 x 1.5GHz, 4GB, 64GB mSATA SSD, Windows 8 64 BIT OEM, keyboard dock & cover (70 hour battery life). Add £40 for a 3G Module for Mobile Internet.

Hi @DavePa, how about a VeryPC Windows Tablet with dockable keyboard? It's configure to order so you can get as much spec as you need for your budget, 13 hour battery life and we sell and provide support for a 3G module and you can specify your own choice of Windows O/S so just load on a copy of Office and away you go.

Hi @Norphy how does the DELL dock connect to the monitor and whiteboard and keyboard and mouse - cables right? Wouldn't this be the same as using the dynadock or any off the shelf 3rd party dock? You're right the dynadock doesn't charge the laptop. It's not an elegant solution by any means but it's 1 cable to the dock and then everything else connects to the dock. My goal here is not to present a solution to compete with a laptop plus proprietary dock as we can't. My aim is to show there are ways of achieving the same goal of easy connectivity without being locked in to a particular product. If we examine what is required by @BlackTie Wi-Di could work for broadcasting images to interactive boards thus negating the need for multiple cables to whiteboards / monitors etc. I agree though that the cleaner the solution the better and the DELL you speak of achieves this with its dock.

LOL cheers @vikpaw. Ben is THE MAN. He's @hallb15 and we did it as a surprise for him for his birthday because he's a top bloke.

Hi @Norphy good to know you; good questions. This is the puppy that customers have been voting for with their wallets; dynadock Not heard a peep out of any of them regarding video performance on it, nor any issues with attaching 2 monitors and the laptop, but will ask around. I gather most teachers have the dock hooked to the whiteboard too with the screen extended / cloned not by windows, but by the on board video mode.

Thanks for posting @BlackTie and thanks for the mention @nephilim and @Millgate Surely it's got to be the gorgeous, lightweight, incredible value VeryPC Thinbook 15.6" (same chassis as Stone's 15" laptop) with the Full HD IPS screen upgrade (because Staff need a great screen) coupled with a Toshiba dynadock to connect the LAN, Monitor, Mouse, Keyboard. Intel Wi-Di enabled CPU and Dual band 5GHz Wi-Fi card for broadcast to a Wi-Di enabled interactive screen too for less cable mess, and to the network if wireless coverage is good throughout the classrooms. Syscap for hassle free public sector approved leasing into the bargain. Feel free to PM me if you'd like to know more @BlackTie

[ipad] what ipad air charging / trolleys are you using?
VeryPC_Colin_M replied to RabbieBurns's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Hi @RabbieBurns I'm familiar with all of the suggestions made and would have no problem recommending all of them; The Loxit for true mobility, The Lapsafe for incredible build quality, the TabCabby for customization, and another contender I'd point you in the direction of would be the Isis iPad Charge and Sync Trolley for value for money; Isis iPad Charge & Sync Trolley | ISIS Concepts -

My bike went the second I was knocked off too. Pressure from her indoors and my mum! What is the difference between 2 ad 4 stroke? = 4 stroke better Is the balancing/turning the same as a pedal bike? = nowhere near Would a 2009 AJS RegalRaptor 125cc be a decent first bike for going roughly 3 miles a day to work and back? = Nice looking, will be sweet for a first bike, you'll be fine doing that mileage just keep her wiped down after rain, and topped up with fluids for short journeys. -
LOL, I wish. One day maybe if we can tempt him away from the public sector though, for sure! He's got lots of people asking him how he does his apple thing on twitter and because I know him, I can vouch for his mad skills.

One of my customers has managed to pretty much crack this apple thing and is about to update his blog here Notes from inside the School IT bubble on using apple product with windows, MDM, installing apps, managing the devices, etc; Keep your eye on it, could be useful to you. Ta, Col

Hi @Rawns, I can help you here. The 14" is out of stock until early March (I've asked if we can show this on the web store to avoid any unnecessary disappointment), and price wise, the cost of 14" screens is more expensive than 15" screens at the moment explaining the price difference. The 15" Thinbook has an additional USB 2.0 port, a numeric keypad, and a fantastic screen resolution upgrade making the difference in specification though, so in my mind the 15" represents pretty awesome value for money. If you want to play games, I'd recommend the 15" with IPS screen matey.
