We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Network Manager to start as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a major role in the development of IT in a thriving and forward-looking school keen to be at the forefront of educational technology for the benefit of our pupils and staff. The post involves working alongside the school’s temporary Network Manager who has a 0.2 contract at the school and who also works as Network Manager for King’s High School for Girls, another Foundation school. The successful applicant will therefore be required to work independently and under their own initiative for large parts of the week whilst keeping in contact with and working with the guidance and support of the Network Manager.   2. We are seeking to appoint an IT technician to start in September 2011. The post involves working with the school’s Network Manager who has a 0.2 contract at the school and who also works as Network Manager for King’s High, another Foundation school. The successful applicant will therefore be required to work alone and under their own initiative for large parts of the week whilst keeping in contact with the Network Manager. The post is for 37 hours a week with there being some negotiation possible over the precise timing of these hours. The post holder will be paid for 200 working days in the year, to include 173 school days, 4 in-service training days and a further 23 days to be worked at agreed times during the school holiday in support of the operation and development of IT systems at the school. The annual holiday entitlement means that the post is paid 45.21 weeks a year. The salary is split by equal monthly instalment throughout the year.   3. Assistant Network Manager For 2 June 2008 Founded in 1879, King’s High School provides independent, single sex, day education for approximately 600 girls aged 11 to 18. The school is renowned for its friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We pride ourselves on the outstanding academic and creative performance of our pupils, founded on a distinguished academic tradition tailored to individual girls’ needs by a highly qualified and motivated staff. King's High School is committed to providing high quality ICT facilities for all users and continued investment in the ICT provision has meant that hardware and software facilities are exceptional for the size of the school. The ICT Department is a successful department which seeks to maintain high standards of service for the whole school. The department seeks to provide computing facilities throughout normal school hours and outside of normal hours to meet pupil and staff requirements. The whole school network has approximately 420 workstations and extends to all areas in the school. There are approximately 300 fixed PC workstations and 120 wireless laptops. The network is based on 7 Windows 2003 servers, with workstations running Windows XP. Applications are sought for an Assistant Network Manager to work within the existing school ICT support structure. Candidates will be expected to be an expert user of the majority of hardware, OS and desktop application software and have a good understanding of client/server based applications and network infrastructure. A successful candidate will be a team player, able to work to high standards and keen to contribute to the development of the use of ICT across the school in both academic and administration capacities. The salary will be C£23,000 depending upon the experience of the successful candidate.
