I am looking for some infirmation on how to create qr codes and have them linked to you tube videos. What i am trying to do is take the childrens displays which normally just show the name of the child that created it and make it more interactive. I would like a qr code next to the display which could link to an internal ir external hosted video if the child explaining what they had created. Has anyone done anything similar snd how please ???

I am after a script that removes the tick from proxy settings on shut down and puts it back when the laptop is on the domain again, I have a vbs created and when its manually run it works fine but if I try and roll it out ffrom the server it does nothing.

Is there a way of pushing out gpo setting to IE10 with 2008 R2 as I have configured the GPO and it works fine as long as the version of IE is 8 or below, is there and admx files etc I can import to give me the option of rolling out to 10 ???

Am I missing something guys, when I had the evaluation equipment I configured it as normal and it was a raging success now the equipment I purchased has arrived I seem to be struggling and I'm not sure why. I configured it the same way I think the only difference is these are now POE were the evaluation equipment wasn't and its a 3000 series ZD instead of the 1000 series, if I sit in a classroom with the AP it doesn't even connect both the 2.4ghz and 5ghz stay orange, on the one occasion the laptop did connect it only did at 2.4 N and not 5 N like it did when I had the evaluation equipment, is there a setting I need to change as I cant work out why its not connecting ???

I only had 2 cables as well a white one and a black one, the black cable went on the right hand side connection and the white on on the middle connection the one on the left was left blank.

Anybody know if I can import these from anywhere, we have no link with our LEA so cant get them from there, or is it something I have to do myself ???

Does anybody know if the ZyXEL GS1910-48HP is any good, I am on a bit of a budget as I have just ordered my Ruckus wifi bundle and need 4 switches to power them I have had a look at the link below; ZyXEL GS1910-48HP 48-Port... | GS1910-48HP-GB0101F | £450.99 | Insight UK which says they are 10\100\1000 and POE but I cant seem to find any reviews about them, has anyone seen or heard of people using them before ???

Are you looking for 2.4 or 5ghz ??? I bought some Atheros mini pci cards from ebay at £12 each and at 5ghz they hit 300Mbps.

I started in my position on 1st April and believe me the school have invested in hybrid Micky Mouse wifi solutions for years and with great regret, my advice would be to contact someone like CP-Ltd and enquire about Ruckus, you can start implementing a good system and add AP's as you can afford them.

Turns out Capita do not provide this and I have to create them all myself, not happy about that at all.

The LEA have cut all ties with our schools and do not support us at all anymore, and as for Personnel it looks like that might be me.

I have been asked today to get SIMS ready for the staff workforce census, can somebody tell me what is involved as the school has very little information. I understand that all the staff contracts etc. need inputting but how do I go about setting up pay spines etc. ???

I am currently evaluating v7 of backup assist and is appears to be quite easy to use but on looking at it today the RDX cartridge says its only using 15GB and server is using around 43GB, I realise its probably compressed but how can I check that its backing up everything including my SQL databases etc ??

Yep settings are all fine, like I say it sends and receives fine just hasn't populated all the folders with the required emails, when send & receive is selected there are no errors and it says that task has completed successfully but still some empty folders ???

I seem to have a problem with gmail in outlook 2010, it seems to be sending and receiving ok and has downloaded the folders etc. after migration but it does not seem to want to populate all the folders with the relevant emails. I have checked the account online and all the emails are in the relevant folders but do not all download to outlook ?? I changed the advanced settings telling it to download all folders in there entirety and all emails but still they do not download. Is this a common fault or am I missing something.

I am sure there is an easy way of doing this so thought I would ask, I have set up deployment of apps through iTunes over wifi and it works well, sadly though I have to go through each one to deploy the apps, is there anything third party etc I could install on a mac or run cloud based to install a single app on all apple devices without having to go through them one at a time.

Good old W7x64 seems to have sorted the laptop crashing problem out, As far as the evaluation is concerned I can’t fault it the 7982 Ap’s are out standing, the streaming test passed with flying colours and today I set about deploying apps etc over the wifi to the ipods and pads once again a great success. Going to try another streaming test in the morning but its looking good for the investment next week.

I do have an issue with them though as since they have been installed the laptops randomly crash but not the same one and not all of them its really odd, going to put xp on and see what happens then.

Can I just say after messing about this afternoon and rolling back wireless card drivers I decided to let Windows 7 install the drivers itself, then set up 15 of the laptops in the hall again and they all reached and sat at 300Mbps, the speed was fantastic.

Well todays test could not have gone any better, The only room I could find to spread the laptops out was the KS2 hall so I spread the laptops all over the hall and setup one of the Ruckus 7982 AP’s, whilst monitoring the ZD I could see that all laptops were connecting at 5Ghz and maintaining a constant 130Mbps. We logged on and streamed a combination of an 800Mb Avi file and a 4Gb Mkv file with no issues whatsoever other than laptop batteries fialing. Could not be more pleased and a great start to the evaluation.

Never got it throught them got the evaluation equipment through CP-LTD not spoke to them yet as I only got everything set up around 4pm yesterday so this is the first proper day looking at it.

Going to try again this morning, forced the ZD last night to channel 40 and all the ipads are connecting fine, will try the laptops with upgraded cards in a min and see if they connect at g\n or a\n. On first glance though I do still seem to have an issue with the older laptops running at b\g.
