  1. i have used gpo preferences to dot he folder redirection, only thing you need the user account is the "home" folder path - this will create the \\domain\shares\home\%username% folder to which gpo redirects all other folders - the use a seconnd gpo mapped drives policy to delete the drive from the users My computer when they log in or simply remove the path \\domain\shares\home\%username% from the user account after creation....works a charm
  2. Could be one of many issues, seen a lot of them before, first place to look is to check sysvol is replicating properly (had lots of issues with this in 2012) to each of your DC's - have had it where one was out of whack and when clients got GPO's from that one they never recieved the settings because the GPO was not there, when a machine next to it was connecting to the valid sysvol on another server and getting settings perfectly. If all OK with that delete your GPO and recreate it...sound fishy but have seen it fix this issue before. check networking wifi / hard wired.... and then the list continues....... Good Luck
  3. Printers are a nightmare... can you reach the webadmin pages when they are "offline"? if so check out the printer status it sometimes gives clues. if you can't wake it up and then check on the web admin for any dodgy sleep settings. also could be something is interfering with the SNMP response from the printer. On the ports tab of the affected printers, Configure the port and uncheck SNMP and test. if you re-enable it ensure the port setup is exactly match that on the printer.

  5. I had 8 in a school, they used a proxy so school bought a PAYG wifi hotspot dongle to get them configured etc... you are right about the 6 devices for one book, all set up was manual and I had to update the software on each one to activate the parent controls on them to prevent the kids dong stuff they shouldn't. when you buy a book you push it to one device and then it becomes available in the archive folder, once 6 licenses used you then buy another copy and push it to device number 7. it took me the best part on 3 hours to configure 8 devices! so good luck with 150! I would stay away from them if I was you!
