  1. Don't care. Don't care.... lol I know what i meant.
  2. You sound like my lecturer who thought i couldn't make the car simulation or do Windows System Programming, until i threw both in his face and got a B & A for my work. I don't NEED to say anything false over this. What i know, and what i don't know, i will say. What i know, i will try to expand on. What i don't know, i will ask for help with, or LIVE and let dieeeeee, LIVE and let dieeeeee (song from Shrek comes to mind).
  3. Hahahahaha
  4. I second this.
  5. -Haskell is not Java, and they DID start off with C when i was in Uni, things have changed without a doubt. -A student who is studying Computer Science Games Development and another who is studying Computer Science Software Engineering has told me otherwise. No offence, i take their word over yours. Again, no offence. -A friend who i've just phoned and is studying Bio-Chem has told me they don't start off with Java. (I presume he asked one of his mates or checked the modules). Why would i need to make false claims over the internet?
  6. Anyway, @Rawns Best of luck on your project!
  7. You do realize that C and Java can be traced back to their origins to be known for their differences? I would love to see which of the top-end Universities focus on Java and don't dive right into C. I know Oxford, Cambridge, Keele, Aston, De-motford (however you spell it), Warwick, Bath and Hertfordshire do not. Straight into C they go. Java is optional in the 2nd year as a module for most.
  8. C / C# / C++ vs Java is completely different. I mean, completely. If you want to venture into c, then don't start fiddling around with java. You'll get confused.
  9. or you could all @TBlax @X-13 @Rawns make a game together...
  10. No @LosOjos. He starts off with a team of beginner programmers. Not venturing alone. You can problem solve 100x faster with 100x (SARCASM) more eyes.
  11. LOL!!!!!
  12. If you asked me that 3 years ago, i'd have said yes. Now... no. If our game was so good that it could compete with industry, you think i'd be on this!?
  13. Get rid of the old tiles. Then, you need a solid foundation. Any ripples, and you won't be able to place the tile down correctly. The floor needs to be prepped with whatever you choose. Fleximats are great, but some people also choose screet? I'd ask the company you bought your tiles from for the correct appliant for your tiles. Also, leave about 5mm or less in spacing. Will look lovely then!
  14. Yes, and how do you do these things? By first copying what is written, understanding it, changing it, and then compiling it. Then do a more complex task, and continue. You START, by copying, thus, proving my first point. You just contradicted what i said, and then repeated what i said. Anyway, @Rawns if you want some help in programming, i can point you in the direction of a few people who have become professionals in c / c# / c++
  15. Right, let's clear this up. Lets go with a team of 3 for this scenario. We have a beginner programmer, and artist, and a game designer vs one person doing all 3. The game designer will come up with certain aspects of a game that he / she would want to incorporate. They would layout a plan, a list of to dos and all of the project management tools at their disposal. The artist, would begin to design characters / player models, backgrounds, and different layers for the scenes. The programmer would at this point be brushing up on any skills necessary for coding all of this into the software and preparing for any bugs / errors. vs Solo. You see the difference? I could expand so much more, but i really can not be bothered. How i know all of this, again, because i've lead a team getting the best possible results. Not to mention making a car simulation to test reactions while on the phone or listening to music etc. I know where i am coming from, because i HAVE done this. I began from the bottom, and i'm no where near the top, because, there isn't a top.
  16. Then how do you learn to write code?
  17. I did. Not rocket science. You get a book, you turn on the pc, download whatever program you're comfortable using, and you follow the steps. Ta.....da.....
  18. Yes, and the quality of the 3D game would be reflected against that of a teams.
  19. That will take you, with a correct mindset, a week to get pingpong or pacman. To learn C#, you can't. It's endless.
  20. I know! I know!!! *Bangs head against wall* I I I I I KNOW! lol
  21. We'll do the brickwork for you if you want! For a price of course lol. Sounds like a brilliant project! We got our bathroom fitted for £500. The guy did it in one day, and it's the best work i've seen, no word of lie. We sourced the products of course, but still! 1 day! £11.5k is stupid for a kitchen, unless you have a kitchen the size of a castle. Max you would / should need to pay is £6k. Source the parts yourself. Don't always buy direct from them, they add about a 30% on top of the RRP..... I'll try and find you some kitchens.
  22. Christ, i miss out one word and i get slandered for it. Sprities are basic graphics. A dot can be interpreted as a sprite. A line can be interpreted as a sprite. You try calling 3d rendered models a sprite. Yes it's a long long way out, but it's what he should be striving for. To do get as far as that, and not stay 2d, you need a team of at least 5 (as me and my group did in uni and got a A16 (highest grade possible)). Otherwise, 2d is as far as he'll go. Using Engines such as Unreal or Crysis can also help along the way for his game.
  23. Fail typo. Missed the word PREVENT.
  24. Sprites, collusion, music detection is a piece of cake to learn. Under 3 hours and most people can understand it. The difficult thing is to incorporate graphics, EDIT COURTESY OF X-13: PREVENT security holes, and futuristicly clever AI.
  25. Always have a job to fall back on, or two! lol Ah see, you didn't say that before Fair enough and i know what you mean about crisp white plaster. Wouldn't ever want to do that to mine either! Who puts bodies in concrete? You burn the bodies, and the bones you grind and sprinkle into foundation.
