Download Link Check for updates with software or www.examwritepad.com PREREQUISTITES .NET Framework 4.8 - https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/thank-you/net48-offline Visual C++ 2013 Runtime (x64) 12.0.40.664 - https://aka.ms/highdpimfc2013x64enu Minimum Spec: Any 64bit Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM, Windows 7 (64bit) or later Recommended Spec: Intel Core i5 or equivalent, 4GB RAM, Windows 10 (64bit) ExamWritePad is a 64bit only application and can be run from a network location, but for best results, run from the local disk of each computer. CHANGELOG 3.1.0.0 (20/11/2019) · ADDED: Ability to skip the Splash Screen via config Option “Disable_SplashScreen”. Set the option to “1” to disable it. · ADDED: Ability to Pause/Resume the extra time countdown timer in case of emergencies, candidate timeouts etc. · FIXED: Close button on the extra timer sidebar never closes when pressed. · FIXED: ConfigEditorGUI would not allow semi-colon to be used on the Exam Centre Number field when requiring multiple numbers to be inserted. · FIXED: Config option ‘PrintFontColour’ did not apply in v3, any colour in the document window would have printed, thus ‘PrintFontColour’ was ignored. · ADDED: If no ‘PrintFontColour’ is specified in the config, EWP will use whatever colours are on the document window. · ADDED: Ability to specify an Active Directory Group and a series of overrides that will apply when launching EWP. For example, if most students do not require a spellchecker and you have disabled it in the config, you can specify an AD group name and the config option you wish to override spell checking so it is enabled for those candidates within the AD group. (See Config options for further assistance and help on setting this up.) · ADDED: Multiple Exam Centre Names are allowed, separate each one with a semi-colon. Centre Names are set in the config only and cannot be changed at runtime. · FIXED: Centre Number on the Candidate Information window was allowing the user to override it and set their own Centre Number. Centre Numbers are set in the config only and cannot be changed at runtime. · FIXED: Quick Formatting panel was hidden and not appearing on previous builds. · ADDED: ConfigEditorGUI has been updated with new config options: Override_Option_ADGroup, Override_Option_Name · FIXED: When Find & Replace button was disabled, you could still launch it via CTRL+F key combination. · ADDED: If you have filled in the all the Candidate Details and decide to start a new document, you will now get asked if you wish to use the same details or start with no details. · ADDED: Right-click on the ruler bar and you now have the options for document TAB position markers. Left click on the ruler bar and it will still place a TAB position marker as normal. · ADDED: New button on the insert ribbon called “Symbol”, allowing to quickly access special symbols/characters like copyright, trademark etc… This has also been added to the ConfigEditorGUI to allow you to disable like other buttons. · ADDED: When you click ‘Print’ and the Candidate Information appears to fill in the remaining details, when you ‘Save & Exit’, the Print sidebar now appears without having to press the Print button again, but only if all the candidate details are filled in. KNOWN ISSUE – If EWP doesn’t run from an UNC share/mapped drive, it is an issue with .Net framework and SMB v1 shares. If you disabled SMB v1 support, then it might break the AD authentication on the clients where it has been removed. At this point your only option is to run EWP from the local hard disk.

Well well, I knew it would be coming but hopefully it gives us admins a bit of time to figure out implications inside your network and anyone with BYOD pupils/staff. Thoughts folks? I’m going to release version 3.1 a few days early than planned so some of you with December Mocks can test EWP. But please note the change log and the Please note bit at the bottom when I post it. Thanks
-
Nothing in normal use other than event logs if anything is thrown up in there. You can turn on debug allocation in the config it won’t affect the running of EWP as it only captures exceptions thrown.
-
If you can get exact details for me that would be great. Have you disabled Find and Replace function or is the button active? Had no other reports as yet of a similar issue. CTRL+F just opens the sidebar and doesn’t nothing else that should cause an issue.
-
Hi, Ive only just come accross this post, did you ever manage to get it setup? Are you now using version 3? If you need any help please let me know or any feedback Thanks
-
Ok thanks for reporting it, consider it fixed for v3.1
-
v3.1 will be released as per schedule the last Sunday of every month. This being the 24th, that gives you at least a week to prepare for December mocks. If there is anything that crops up from your testing then send over a bug report via examwritepad.com or post it here. I will do my up most to get the issue resolved quickly, otherwise drop back to v3.0.6.0 With regards the split screen from v2 has gone and is now replaced with the native windows snap to left or right of screen and EWP will go near to half as possible, just slightly over on some smaller screens.

I’ve had to delete a few apps and restore them all all works fine afterwards.
-
Already on 13.2.2 when it was first released.
-
will do thanks :-)

Hi All, I’ve been having issues with notifications etc... when upgrading to iOS 13, so today I deleted the app and tried to look for it in the AppStore and nothing. I search google and found it but when I clicked on it and it redirected me back to AppStore it said it wasn’t available for my country, here in the UK. Admins please can you sort this issue out so we can redownload it, thanks.

Good news is all the issues raised over the last week have been addressed and sorted. There is one caveat though, and it’s an issue with .net framework and SMB v1 shares. You might get an a series of event log errors relating to EWP not running. The only answer for this is either make sure all your shares where you run EWP from are SMB v2 or 3, but this has been known to break certain Active Directory stuff. Or run EWP from the local disk like we do, via a logonscript that copies it from a UNC path to the local hard drive. This issue has only been introduced because for the AD Group/Feature override coming in the next version via the system.net DLL in DotNet Framework.

Bloody hell 2.0.8.9 you need at least 2.6.8.0 as I’m sure there is a bucket full of issues fixed between the two versions. But because you are rolling out v3 I will let you off [emoji6][emoji1303]

Not at the moment no, The ribbon bar is custom design and built by me, so everything control is in a fixed place. If I was to use a Ribbon control, thrid party then I could have hidden it but there were no good free ones out there. Im looking into hidding buttons for future versions but it either means hide and leave a blank space or dynamically shift all controls on the right of a hidden button, left. I made the initial decision not to hide the button because if you hide a series of button controlds you might end up with an ugly looking ribbon bar with bits missing here and there.
-
Sorry, no, EWP is a one document, single instance application. Im hoping in a future to allow multiple instances or multi-tabbed document windows. if there is a demand then I will do it.
-
Sorted! Good old reboot [emoji1303]
-
Oh dear, better see what’s happening with it....thanks
-
I will do, it’s hosted on my own webserver behind a reverse proxy, not been a high priority but I’m getting round to it, eventually [emoji23][emoji1303]

http://www.examwritepad.com is now live for people to use...

Ok from my testing, PrintFontColour config option doesn’t apply and never has done in v3. Which means those that used coloured text should have printed colour. I will reinstate it so that a colour entered in the config will apply and a blank config entry won’t apply.
-
Yes sure thing!

A lot to chew through here.... I will fix the config GUI issue for multiple centre numbers. F9 brings up CharMap for me, so it must be keyboard specific issue, can you test on standard keyboard for me and let me know outcome. Exam boards don’t specific text to be in other colours for clarity, but if this is something you wish to use, I will make the option PrintFontColour if left blank, use colours in document window. With regards extra time clock, it’s just a basic countdown, but I can add in a pause button but the nature of this feature is that it is available to the user to abuse if I start adding in ways to add extra time onto of extra time. I will add in a pause/resume button but will only be visible after the start of the timer. Hopefully this will be sufficient for now [emoji23][emoji1303]

Further good news is that I’m now the owner of examwritepad.com and the domain name will be active in a few days. Hopefully making the search for EWP easier in future!! [emoji1][emoji1303]
