  1. Ok I will test it out this afternoon
  2. Are you using dual screens or single?
  3. Ok so the issue is related to the TextControl I use, I have contacted the developers for a answer/solution/future fix, but for the time being the only way I was able to overcome this issue was a temporary solution that when the Find sidebar opens it disables the TopMost priority, so the message box appears in front, then when you close the sidebar the TopMost returns. I will put the is ASAP and release it tomorrow.
  4. Thanks, I will on to it straight away!
  5. All now done and ready for next release date.
  6. I can do so, yes no problem. [emoji1][emoji1303]
  7. Would be nice, because at the moment it will only allow you to open and save the same config. I will see what I can do
  8. I will create a config option to make them non-mandatory, no problem.
  9. Download www.examwritepad.com or via the in-app update button PREREQUISTITES .NET Framework 4.8 - https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/thank-you/net48-offline And ALL subsequent Windows Update .Net Cumulative Updates for 3.5 and 4.7.2 https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/4519569/oct-15-2019-kb4519569-cumulative-update-for-net-framework Visual C++ 2013 Runtime (x64) 12.0.40.664 - https://aka.ms/highdpimfc2013x64enu Minimum Spec: Any 64bit Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM, Windows 7 (64bit) or later Recommended Spec: Intel Core i5 or equivalent, 4GB RAM, Windows 10 (64bit) ExamWritePad is a 64bit only application and can be run from a network location, but for best results, run from the local disk of each computer. 3.1.8.0 (01/12/2019) • FIXED: Spelling mistake on the Candidate Information window where on two occasion ‘Centre’ was spelt ‘Center’. • FIXED: If only one Centre Number and/or Centre Name are specified in the config, they will now appear as the default selected option on the Candidate Information window. • FIXED: The function that provides EWP with ability to ‘Mute Audio’ has been changed to support all or most PCs. The previous system would only Mute if your keyboard support volume keys. • FIXED: The system sound would re-enable if you clicked cancel when closing EWP in order to continue using EWP. • ADDED: English IPA character/symbols added to the language character map (used only with UK A-Level English exams). • FIXED: EWP would crash, when trying to print, if you have no printers installed. • FIXED: Clear Formatting option never fully cleared all formatting when applying it to the whole document.
  10. I do have a full IPA to go in a future update but for now the one you supplied will be enough to get started [emoji1303] I shall release it this weekend
  11. IPA alphabet is now included but split into three options on the drop down list. The selection window has had to be increased to 64 buttons to allow for IPA use.
  12. Thanks for this bit of info, I think in the documentation I will suggest to make sure that all DotNetFramework patches/cumulative updates are installed prior to running EWP. Cheers!
  13. Thanks for taking the time to test and use EWP This have never happened before so please could you supply more detail to the issue please. Do you have any printers installed on the test PC, if so, how many and what is the default? Have you made changes to the config file? If so which changes? Can you send me a debug log, turn on debugging in the config file, run EWP and generate the error again, then it will generate an HTML file in either, the users temp folder or the windows temp folder. Thanks
  14. I’ve done my own test with a 148 page document and replaced the letter ‘o’ with ‘hello’ and pressed the replace all button a few seconds before the auto save. It works ok, replaced 24,427 occurrences in 20 seconds. Obviously the program hangs while it happens but returns once complete. Not sure what the issues are here which out someone being able to replicate it with conditions.
  15. Hi thanks for the feedback. Can you provide more details, in terms of how long into the exam does it start to freeze? Does it freeze when there is a few lines of text or a larger quantity of lines? It could it be possible that the auto save is causing the lockout of the text window control as it runs on a separate process to the other functions that run on the click of a ribbon button. So if the find/replace locks out the text control and the auto save or auto backup are fired in separate processes it is likely to cause a collision. If you provide as much background as you can then I will be in a better position to test.
  16. Both should work [emoji1303]
  17. All environment variables that resolve to a folder or drive path are supported. %username% is not supported as it doesn’t resolved to a path.
  18. Just email it over to [email protected] Thanks
  19. That’s good to know people are loving it. Send over the IPA doc and I will see what I can do. Yes, the icons will be hidden in time but for now they are greyed out. I will have a look at the point 3 and fix. Thanks for the feedback!!
  20. I haven't spoken about this as yet, but Im in dialogue with a few schools in America about using EWP, but the bigger issue is trying to make it suit a country that has many different rules within each state. In terms of education I'd expect it to be very similar state to state but its taking ages to get people to respond. I'd love to go global with this, so if anyone who subscribes to this thread has contacts in the US, can you help out, touch base with them and mention EWP and how it works and whether there is any benefit to the US education system. I be very appreciative.
  21. 1. Fixed 2. Fixed 3. Fixed, the mute code was for keyboards that supported audio keys, so change it for a more system wide approach. I will hang off releasing an update until you have tested tomorrow and get feedback. Expect a new version Wed/Thurs.
  22. Leave them with me and I will investigate and report back.

  24. Quick Minor Update folks. 3.1.1.0 (25/12/2019) • FIXED: EWP would not exit after the document modification message box upon closing, when the splash screen was enabled. • ADDED: If you hide the ribbon bar using the toggle switch, when you click on a tab, the ribbon bar will re-open and when you return focus to the document window, the ribbon bar will hide itself again. This mimics exactly how Microsoft Word handle a hidden ribbon bar. • CHANGED: The minimum width of the main window has been reduced from 925 to 800 (tweaked a few button sizes), to allow those the windows snap screen feature a true 50/50 split. This is based on a minimum screen resolution of 1600x900. Anything lower than this will render the app snapped with EWP as very narrow and useless. This is because the ribbon bar is not currently designed to allow for dynamic resizing hence the fixed minimum application width of 800. Get you update from the usual place (in app update check or www.examwritepad.com)
