    Raid Card

In all honesty i dont know the age off the top of my head. 2008 maybe? I have a 16x riser card in there... Thats what's confusing the hell out of me. Iv been advised to look at these PCIe SATA 3.0 Controller Card - 6gbps | 2 port | StarTech.com United Kingdom Think it might work?

    Raid Card

Hi Guys. I'm looking for a raid card for my IBM x3455. Looking to mirror 2 500GB WD drives. I spend 3 hours looking for a on-board raid the other day and found nothing. Cheap as possible. I don't want to speak £200 on a raid card. Any advice would be great. (I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to Raid cards). Cheers Rick

    DayZ Server

Day off work.. Home alone.. Time to play dayz
  18. Thanks for the input, Ill look into this more. For the power consumption, we try get all our servers to use under 1amp. I think the best bet is adding up all hard drive idle power usage. I would of thought they use the most when spinning up.
  19. Thanks Dhicks, Ill look into that further. We are aiming around £65-80pm for 4GB ram, 2 x 120GB drives and 1TB bandwidth a month hosted in Sheffield DC. Prices are not finalized yet but i cant see them moving.
  20. I used to sell VPS servers, Moving into the dedicated server side of things now. Hence why i want to be able to reinstall them remotely. Thinking about it.. What would the disadvantage of using FOG be?
  21. Thanks Squeeky, But i dont really understand, I am planning on letting out dedicated servers not VPS's. Would Hyper-V or esx-i be able to do that to dedi's or just VPS's?
  22. Hi guys, Me and a friend of mine are planning on colo'ing a few servers and renting them out. We have just about everything in place apart from one thing. OS deployment on request. Is there a way to deploy a OS (Linux) inside a data centre from a server or a panel? i was thinking FOG but I'm not 100% sure its going to work in a Data centre environment. We would like to get a request to reinstall the server via ticket/email, press a few buttons and off it goes. No need to go to the data centre and do it manually? Is there a free/cheap way of doing this or is my fuel costs going to sky rocket with trips to the DC?
  23. I had this problem. Try adding the person you want to share to from the address book instead of typing the email
  24. Now that's a service and a half.... And only 3-4 min drive from my house
  25. You can get them from ebay for around £2 a pair. Iv got some at home. Havent tested them yet but cant complain for the price.
