That works great, is there a way to add say period 2 to that report? Also I filtered out the marks to only show unauthorised absence but it's alowing all the students, even those with a present mark.
-
Can't seem to get the report to work... I'm getting student names appear but no marks for being absent are appearing, as well as the teacher and classroom for period 2.
-
Thank you. I will try this on Monday and report back.
-
Does anyone know if this would be possible within SIMS... Our admin staff want a report produced during period one that shows all the missing marks or absenses for the whole school. This report would have to show the pupils name, what mark they were given for period 1, what lesson they have for period 2 including the class/rooms numbers they are supposed to be in for period 2. This is to allow checks to be made to see if the pupils are acutally absent or whether it was a teachers error. Can it be done?

On the SIMS Server or the Solus Server?
-
Where do I find the installer?
-
Where do I get the full installer from? Not sure why this is happening, back in August when I applied the Summer Release everything went through OK... It's just applying the patch now.
-
So I applied the patch but for some reason the SIMS workstation update on the SIMS server keeps failing with the error "one or more errors have occurred". SOLUS tells me that an update is happening but it fails... Anyone have any ideas what could be going wrong?
-
Thanks. I thought that would be the case. Just got concerned when I expanded the scheduled deployment to see both the full summer release and the patch contained within the deployment. I'm guessing it's there because like you said if it comes across a machine without the full release it'll install that first and if it's there it'll just install the patch.
-
Quick question... I have already applied the SIMS Summer 2018 Full Release, I now need to apply the Workstation Patch 1 but can only see the option of the "SIMS Summer 2018 Release - Consolidated Workstation Patch 1" in Solus. If I deployed this would the full release be installed again or would the agent realise that the full release has already been installed and just apply the patch? Sorry if it's a stupid question, just new to all this. Thanks

Unfortunately our SIMS and FMS are not virtualised.

Thanks for that. Sorry more questions... Would adding the domain to GSuite in anyway interfere with our current Exchange and Web Outlook access? Can both run side by side with Gmail? Just asking incase there are problems and things go wrong. Also withpoint 6 on the link you've sent... Continue and verify domain ownership. What verification would be needed? I don't have any info for the domain to hand as it was a previous technician who set this all up. And lastly (for now) point 8... Update the domain's MX records to set up Gmail... Totally lost on this, what exactly needs to be done and how?
-
I've was wondering what everyone did for their SIMS and FMS backups. What's the best thing to do? Right now, I'm taking a database backup via Backup Exec and also manually doing a BAK backup via SIMS and FMS. What's the best method so that SIMS and FMS can be restored as quickly as possible?

How would I configure my old domain to GSuite? Sorry, I'm new to all this GSuite stuff. I didn't set up our current GSuite domain. So I'm guessing there's no way of creating signatures via GSuite, it'll have to be a 3rd party app?

I've been tasked with moving out emails from Exchange to Gmail. We've got GSuite up and running and are currently using both email systems. Just wondering what would be the best solution or has anyone else done anything similar? For redirecting our Exchange emails to Gmail my plan was to create mail contacts in Exchange for all our staff Gmail contacts and then setting up the email forwarding option in Exchange. If I was to do this how would you create mail contacts in Exchange in bulk and then add a forwarding address in bulk for all the Exchange mailboxes? Also, another issue, how do you create personalised signatures in Gmail for all staff? By personalised I mean the signature has their names and job title? At the moment the job title isn't synced with G Suite, how is this done? Sorry, that's a lot of questions...

[ms office - 2011 (mac)] Skip Register page for all users
quaium replied to a topic in Office Software
I know this is an old thread but I'm having the exact same problem with Office 2011 on the Macs. I've followed instructions given by jsimpson but I don't have a "Documents" folder in the location /System/Library/User Template/English.lproj/ I also can't find the Default User folder on the Mac. I'm using Mountain Lion 10.8.4 and any network user that logs in is getting the registration window pop up. Any ideas on how this can be resolved? -
If that was the case we would be using storage on a SAN... could there be any issues with that and how would we mount it as a drive so the Mac Server can see it?
-
So even if we were to go with an SMB share would you recommend a NAS drive?
-
Good point... we tried this in the past and it was very slow, not sure why but maybe because it was an SMB share. We want a share that is either AFP or NFS based which I've heard is a little faster. Also, as this is a separate network we wanted to keep it away from our existing kit.
-
We're about to setup a separate Mac only network which will have no connection with our existing Windows setup. I was wondering if anyone else had set something like this up and could offer some advice. Our biggest worry is storage for user home directories. We are leaning towards a NAS device but researching this shows that there can be some issues. What would be the recommendation? Something that will work well and will allow set up of automated home folders and permissions via Profile Manager. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm trying to create a login script to use with Workgroup Manager that will allow me to change the keyboard modifer keys on a client machine at login. I've done a search and found a few scripts but they don't seem to work. For example the following script: tell application "System Preferences" activate set current pane to pane "com.apple.preference.keyboard" tell application "System Events" tell process "System Preferences" click button "Modifier Keys…" of tab group 1 of window "Keyboard & Mouse" set curOpt to (get value of pop up button 3 of sheet 1 of window "Keyboard & Mouse") set curCmd to (get value of pop up button 4 of sheet 1 of window "Keyboard & Mouse") tell sheet 1 of window "Keyboard & Mouse" tell pop up button 3 click click menu item curCmd end tell tell pop up button 4 click click menu item curOpt end tell end tell click button "Ok" of sheet 1 of window "Keyboard & Mouse" end tell end tell quit end tell I am trying to get this to work on OS X 10.6 with no luck. Firstly I have seperate options in System Preferences for Keyboard and Mouse settings (the script above points to window "Keyboard & Mouse") and secondly, even after changing the "Keyboard & Mouse" to just "Keyboard" I get an error message about not being about to locate button "Modifier Keys...". All I'm trying to do is change the Modifier Keys so that Crtl key is set to nothing on login. Could anyone help me out with this?

What does the search policy say in Directory Utility? It has both the AD domain and the OD LDAP directory listed. Is Active Directory above LDAPv3 (Open directory)? Yes AD is above LDAPv3 Is the kerberos service running? Keberos is not running on the OD server as it's getting it's information from the AD server. Anything in the logs under server admin -> open directory? There are quite a few logs files to look through. Is there a particular one that you want me to look at? They all have some sort of entry in them, but don't give much away (maybe that's because I'm not sure what I should be looking for).
-
Bump! Someone? Anyone?
-
Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this resolved? I'm starting to think it might be something to do with kerberos.

The time is correct as the Mac server is pointing to our Domain Controller for the time. Just out of interest I noticed that within Server Admin the server is named "macserver.local", however, I do remember on my other attempts it read "macserver.*domain name*.local"... could this be the cause of the problem and if so how do I sort that out?
