Just guessing at this point, Tom, but I think you are right about PC on an admin acct.

Do you have Parental Controls on?

I think the terminal command is "/usr/bin/profiles -d" You will likely need a sudo on the front of that.

I take it you don't use profile manager.

I find it easier to create an install disk for Mavericks using DiskMaker X. Use it to create a clean OS 10.9 image. Install all of your apps and get it exactly like you want it. Then run Onyx to clean everything up and repair permissions before you shut it down. x2 for DeployStudio. Once installed, use a Thunderbolt cable to connect the DeployStudio admin device and your gold master machine. Start the GM machine in target disk mode and us DS to create an image from a volume. Create your workflow to image via TB or through NetBoot and you're in business.
