  1. The start menu is redirected using folder redirection, then we point the tiles in the XML to the redirected start menu items.
  2. We give user's there start menu though the start menu xml in group policy.
  3. For Windows 7 Machines, we deployed it out with SCCM. For Windows 10 Machines (We only run Enterprise 1607), it will get enabled using the group policy as its built into Windows 10 1607. Source: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/itpro/windows/manage/uev-whats-new-in-uev-for-windows
  4. Yep. We managed UE-V using the Computer Policies. We have the following enabled: Enable UE-V: Enabled First Use Notification: Disabled Settings Storage Path: \\your-fs-srv\UEVStaff$\%username% Synchronise Windows Settings: Enabled (This is where you would pick what Windows Settings you want UE-V to sync) Tray Icon: Disabled Use User Experience Virtualization (UE-V): Enabled After configuring the computer policy, we made a GP Scheduled task to register the templates with UE-V (In Windows 10 1607 it doesn't do automatically). We setup the User as NT Authority\SYSTEM to run the program detailed below, as staff couldn't run it due not having the correct permission level. This is what we have the triggers set to: This what we set the actions to: ^These will only apply to Windows 10 1607 or higher as UE-V is built-in.
  5. Yep, that's how we do it currently.
  6. Are we allowed to have some sneaky pictures of it. I've only seen the promo material and none in the wild.
  7. You can use local profiles, roaming profiles or mandatory profiles with UE-V. For example here for PC's still running Windows 7 staff are using UE-V with a roaming profile (we are planning to switch these over to mandatory at some point) and staff what are primarily based on Windows 10 have a mandatory profile with UE-V. Also by using UE-V on Windows 7 for staff with roaming profile, when we switch them over to mandatory they won't notice anything has changed as all their settings have been captured by UE-V and have carried on working.
  8. Yep, feel free to
  9. We have been using UE-V at our place and it works like a dream. Staff what have been using Windows 10 with mandatory profiles haven noticed any difference.
  10. Welp, I've decided it's going to be quicker to rebuild it. The Boot Drive is ruined, it's soo slow. It's taken roughly 2 hours to install the endpoint client for Veeam. Thanks for all your input guys!
  11. I would P2V if it wasn't a Hyper-V host as well. I will give the ghost and paragon way a go if the veeam way doesn't work.

I couldn't tell you to be honest.
  13. DigitalOcean has a UK based data center and is ISO27001 accredited. https://www.digitalocean.com/help/policy/
  14. I'm not sure. But I'm going to try backing up the OS with Veeam Endpoint Protection and restoring it back to the SSD. The Server is a HP ML110 Gen7. I think the RAID controller is a HP B110i I will update if it worked or not. Thanks for the help!
  15. I know you said you haven't done this with a Server OS. Would you possibly know how this work with the RAID? I have the OS on a hard drive on it's own configured in a RAID 0 as the HP raid controller wouldn't let me pass through as a normal hard drive and I have my Storage in a RAID 10 array.
  16. Hi everyone, Next week I will be moving my Windows Server Install from the hard drive what's already in my server to a nice new 240GB SSD. Anyone got any guides or tips to doing this. BTW this is a personal server I'm doing this to. Also I apologize for the poor grammar and spelling. [emoji4]

  18. When I sent my surface 3 to be fixed, I had to send it off. But it looks like they replace the units as I got mine back 2-3 business days later and it had a new serial number...
  19. Impero V6 Staff what primarily use Windows 10 have mandatory profiles with uev to roam there settings. I've only seen it on the student machines. All the kids also use mandatory profiles.
  20. We are also having this issue with this! I wonder if v6 will fix this?
  21. That's a HTC HD2
  22. We created our profiles using the official way as well. Your problem with roaming profiles sounds identical to what we have. We are trying mandatory profiles with UE-V to allow staff settings to roam as the start menu seems to work well with mandatory profiles.
  23. Working here as well
  24. So, we are starting our Windows 10 deployment and we are having some issues with Start Menu. For students who use mandatory profiles, it works fine and works perfectly every time. But for Staff, it doesn't work as it should do. Staff, here use Roaming profiles. We are having the issue where the start menu appears with all the correct items but normal windows application won't be clickable but the Windows 10 UWP work fine. At the moment the only way we have of fixing this by resetting Staff Profiles. One thing we did notice it happened if two machines were logged in at the same time and that's where the start menu would break. We can't find anything in the event log and it seems clear. Any Solutions? Thanks!
  25. I got a Microsoft Office OneNote Cape from the Microsoft stand
