What does the plain bsod say? When we had the issue with bsods with our zoostorm machines, it was a chipset driver issue (running the Intel driver update as a local admin) seemed to resolve the issue, and updated in the build disk stopped future issues). Have also seen batches where the ram was faulty. Zoostorm are cheap, and tend to use unbranded ram and power, and slightly older chipsets, but at Tha price you cant grumble really. If you give them a call, they may well look at the dmp file for you if you have a load of machines with the same error

We use IDNS, Choice Stationery, IJT Direct/Making IT Green, Toner Giant and cartridgesave and apart from the odd dud cartridge which has been replaced with no arguements, all of them offer a pretty standard service. IDNS tend to get most of the orders, as they also give us a big box to send back any used cartridges, drums etc to them from any supplier, and IJT/Making IT Green (same company, or at least the sales reps work for both of them) are used for when we want a freebie. Just to warn you though, IJT do seem to spam you call wise, to get more sales, no matter how many times you ask them not to.

I changed the brightness and power settings to stop it auto dimming, but as far as a fix, users can still reduce the screen brightness, but the kids are normally rather good on that sie!

Our remaining nc110s all run 7 pro x86, and while not blisteringly fast, in fact painfully slow even with a ram upgrade, they do the job they are wanted for. If you can, I would look into 10 for them, as the nb30s have touch screens don't they?

If you use a google based email system, then they are really good to give to kids who break their arms and therefore cannot write...

another +1 for accupart. also, if your not 100% sure, you can also ring them up, and they are really helpful on the phone too. Have also used cheap ones from Amazon and ebay, but only when absolutely desperate and when the Finance Manager isn't there...

I had a similar issue with an R50-B laptop a few months ago, hvae you tried setting the power consumption to Maximum Performance? Also if you block screen brightness changes for ordinary users, then you also want to stop the screen dimming with them, as I've noticed that they don't always pick back up again until they are restarted...

If you can still get them, we have a wide range of samsungs (about 100 devices in total bought from 3 ranges) a few years back, and the only ones dead were broken screens from drops and 1 where the charger pin got broken off inside when a teacher was being 'very gentle getting them out and it must have been a fault with the charger'

If i'm building a new machine, I always buy a new PSU for it too! After about 5 years, your PSU will probably be rather dusty, and has a higher risk of failure too. I wouldn't buy a cheap unbranded or not very well known brand, but something like Antec VP-Series 450W Fully Wired Efficient Power Supply - Ebuyer (others are available).

We had one that did that recently (except teacher claimed they didn't drop it, the case most certainly said otherwise). To get it working well enough to take about 10% of the hard drive off, I sealed it in 2 food bags (the ones with no holes except the one at the top), one inside the other, and put it in the industrial chiller set at -18 in the food technology room for half an hour, and took it straight out and took data off it in small batches. Repeating the process every 50 or so MB until the drive died completely. Was very slow but it did work (data transfer maxed out at 120 kbps)

I have dual Hanns-G 22" wide screens, my boss has dual 19" N.A.R Hanns-G monitors. The back wall has 4 24" Iiyama wide screens set up in a square so we can monitor, the far wall has the 27" Mac (the most expensive web browsing machine ever?) and a 18.5" monitor for the DHCP server for the transparent proxy, the CCTV system servers, the package builder machine and a test rig. Then we have a 22" TV for the media encoding machine/Freeview box/DVD recorder etc, as well as a spare VGA cable so we can build machines in the office and finally an 18.5" monitor purched on top of the servers in the rack so that if it all goes pete tong, then we don't have to play hunt the monitor. Yeah, we seem to do all right for monitors in here...

We have, *takes a deep breath* RM, VeryPC, Acer, Lenovo, HP, Fujitsu, Dell, Toshiba, Asus, Samsung, and 1 sony... Yeah, we buy what ever is cheapest/best value really... Have to say for build quality, VeryPC and Lenovo are the best, although the last batch of Lenovo's I have purchased I was slightly disappointed by - 1 faulty mobo, and 1 broken power switch in a batch of 32.

Used to play when I was still at school, but had to stop under the advice of a knee specialist. Really enjoyed my time playing as a forward. Did make the move away from the front row as soon as possible though!

We trialed an iBoard Touch on a wheely base. Not light, but does have the advantage that it doesn't have a projector to catch on anything. We also trialed the Activeboard version both of which if you can afford them are really quite good. Just started to roll them out (wall mounted not on the wheely bases) for rooms now. However we may well have gone out and done the wheely base option if it wasn't for there being stairs everywhere...

Card only has 2 DVI ports on it. @DavetheITguy - the integrated graphics have been disabled in the bios and both connected to the graphics card. Using 2 different monitors (more annoyingly a 22" and the 24" that I was trying to get rid of works together)

We have a slightly strange one here. We have just installed a dual monitor through a Sapphire Radeon R5 230 card. When we connect up 2 identical displays, the 2nd display isn't picked up properly, however when we connect a different display it works fine. Reconnect the first display, and there is no issue for a few hours, then if the machine locks, or a user logs off and logs back on the display goes back to the unrecognised device with a resolution of 640x480. Both monitors are set up through DVI, we have tried different drivers and any setting in Catalyst that might seem to affect it. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

We had that recently with a couple of machines in the latest batch of updates, and a rebuild kicked it through and installed the updates. I tend to do the updates in rooms/trolleys, so a maximum of 31 if we do an IT suite, or 16 if we do a trolley. It seems that machines where you haven't updated for a long time are more likely to fall over when doing it (so the machines are the ones that we didn't get around to rebuilding last summer, so haven't been rebuilt since they were originally built probably around 3 years ago unless they have failed for what ever reason.

No issue here on Chrome on Win 7 SP1 64 bit. Doesn't work on IE 10 though (Flash 11.4)

We did once, and the hate that came in about how some things were never done (like filling the printers with paper) or that we didn't fix issues immediately (or had to wait until parts arrived) before the fix, and that was very bad - Projectors were a major gripe, as was the fact we took printers away from departments.
