Office word 2010/2013 - Disable Spell Check for student and exams
dalehopper replied to steewy's topic in Office Software
has anyone come across a way to disable the word 2013 status bar that still allows spellings to be corrected this seems to show even with the above restrictions in place IGNORE THAT - extra registry entry needed https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/5565fd05-baae-4619-a678-fc941a6d281b/word-2013-status-bar?forum=officeitpro -
any ideas on price without contacting the company?
-
interestingly a newer driver has fixed the issue for some of the computer also, many thanks

@russdev can tell you that the onboard NIC is a Intel 82578DC gigabit adapter if there was an impero setting say (send 1 packet or multiple) i could test it out
-
that sounds about right @Steve21 from what ive seen anyway as i said earlier, it used to work with impero
-
thanks for your comments fellas but it works fine using a free WOL tool so the suggestion is its impero
-
@russdev any ideas?

Morning edugeeks, just trying to get some answers or to see if any persons have had similarities with an issue i'm experiencing regarding using WOL via impero. Basically i start the machines up and they stall/crash/pause at the BIOS boot screen i have to manually press the restart switch, it's all very odd! Its only happened in the last release or possibly the one before, old releases used to work fine. All settings (are as the were) are correct in the BIOS, on-board intel network adapter drivers are up-to-date and all setting enabled in the Power management tab, even tried powering machines on using a different port in impero (7 rather than 9) Cant get on impero's support forum so though id ask here first??? I must add that it doesn't happen on every computer but the majority (looked for differences in the settings of working and non-working pcs, but nothing that i can see) many thanks Dale

Changing student passwords for non IT staff
dalehopper replied to win's topic in How do you do....it?
we have this added to a shortcut, then it only looks for one OU \\servername\passcontrol$\PasswordControl.exe -root "ou=Students,OU=People,dc=network,dc=local" -s "ServerName" -
What issues are you having Techdw? Smoothwall support are usually pretty good at getting them sorted.

Hi guys, we have a Samsung display running MagicInfo cant remember the exact model but its I think 400Mx sounds familiar (any way i digress) the issue im having is installing either IE7 or IE8, ive been though several threads talking about disabling EWF which i have done, restarted etc. however when i still try and install the software its asks to restart first, then after reboot, the same message. Event log shows nothing at all. I have installed software in the past it just wont let me install IE7/8, as a side matter you also cant run windowsupdates etc. Just wondered if anyone had the same issue or had solved it without formatting the partition Many thanks Dale

the ultimate way to do it i find, is to update it as administrator anyway simply using lanview or something simlar i can log on all the sims computers that need updating run the sims.exe, let them update, restart or logoff all within 10 mins and without leaving my desk
-
also look at the simsperb.bat located in s:\sims\setups thats helps Dale
