Looking for School IT Technician jobs in Shropshire
blunty91 replied to abillybob's topic in Educational IT Jobs
Keep checking wmjobs.co.uk mate if you already don't -
Hi guys Recently had M680's installed, got one what is playing up (worked fine first week after install), the blue pen light stays on constantly and only 1/4 of the board works interactively - the other side just won't respond to fingertips/pens etc, if you press the mouse button, it'll just jump back straight onto the blue button, I've re-installed drivers/Notebook, reset board (power and unplugging USB), says on settings it's connected and "working properly" Got a call logged with SMART now, but just wondering if anyone has had this issue before Many thanks Dan

Talk to me about a replacement to RM Success Maker
blunty91 replied to Oaktech's topic in Educational Software
I would be interested in hearing any alternatives for SuccessMaker, if anyone has them. -
I'd use Google Chrome to be honest Seeing as you're new, Firefox might already been in the Software Packages RMMC > Packages & Products > All Packages - have a gander round for Firefox I tend to use Assignment Overview to install it

Yep boot it via LAN It needs a machine number set so can be seen in RMMC etc, which is why it's not probably working on network yet. -

Citrix Receiver at the moment, works OK to be honest. Not great, but kids can access work and Office within one app. -
[ipad] Help on installing apps to multiple iPads

Imported an app I brought a couple of weeks ago with 3 codes on the spreadsheet and it worked! The other two main apps we brought without VPP were iMovie and Garageband, there is no way we can now put them in Apple Configurator is there? -

This is the thing, we haven't got a sync trolley - will this be a problem? We tried USB hubs (10 port one) but IIRC a power surge error came up when putting more than 3 in... What are paid apps like in Apple Configurator - does it work? We've got Apple ID's set up for the amount of iPads we got, do you use seperate ID's on each iPad or just one? Many thanks for any information mate. -

We've only got 15, so it's not that bad at the moment doing it this way, I really should get my head round Apple Configurator tho. -

What I've done today... Got 1 iPad, got the all the settings I wanted on it e.g. the restrictions in the Settings like blocking people installing stuff in the App Store, in-app purchasing, FaceTime, all the apps I wanted on it (including paid ones), wallpaper and lock screen Then went into iTunes, backed that iPad up... Then I got another iPad, restored it so literally like a brand new one, updated iOS, restore the back up I did, and it works - all the settings I put on the first is now on the second, paid apps are working on it too, stuff iMovie and Garageband are opening no problems. -
Hi guys, Trying to get AirServer on a RM CC4 network setup in one of the classrooms... We're on a Trapeze wireless network. Works first time with our MacBook Pro, but I've got no joy when using the computer in the class As anyone got it work? Worst comes to worst we'll just hook up the MacBook to the projector as we've got the VGA converter etc, just would be easier if we could get it on the computer... Thanks if anyone knows.

Got Smart Office 2 on my personal iPad at home, it was free a couple of weeks ago, it's now gone back up to £6.99 but IMO it's very good, our Head had it months ago when we first got iPads in the school and never had a problem, goes meetings with it and types up notes and then emails it to himself to carry on editing if needed, it opens up in Office 2007 no problems.

Not 100% sure it will work through Safari, think it redirects you to the App Store to download Citrix... If you're not using it internally (http://cc4anywhere.local normally the internal address?) and using it externally the users what want to use it need to be put in the CC4Anywhere Users group on RMMC I believe.

Always look on council websites near your area for jobs as well, and have email alerts set-up on them. Also some ICT Tech jobs come under the "Education based - support staff" section, not always the ICT bit.

It's pretty epic on my iPad to be fair... Can control the whole of Netflix without having to move from my bed!

Ok first time poster here, got a feeling I'm posting this in the wrong section but here goes... Been working in a primary school since September now, the school is managed by RM - I've really enjoyed it, get on well with all the staff. I've applied for a job at a high school closer to where I live, unmanaged and more wages as I will work all year round, unlike at the moment only term time. Main reason for applying is ideally I want to try and get away from admin work I do and supporting classes, not that I don't like doing it but I didn't study 3 years of I.T. to do them, like at the moment my job consists of 50% admin and 50% I.T. - I would love to get nearer the 80% involving I.T. If I stay where I am, I'm going to have to work at two schools, 2.5 days a week each, which I'm a bit anxious about as the problems at the school I'm at now aren't going to disappear and I'll have less time to sort them. Just got a feeling my workload is going to increase and I'll have no time. So, if I do have a chance of the new job do I take it, or stay where I am and get a couple of more years on my CV...
