  1. Hello, is there any way of launching Kill Disk from the network using PXE thus not needing to use USB or floppy disks? Thanks
  2. You may find that the GPO to delete cached profiles will not work if for instance a child pulls the power from a computer when they are still logged on.

    Netbooks

Ive just installed steadystate and I think this is the way ill go. Ill create a local account, create a new partition (keeping it nice and small to prevent them saving loads of rubbish on there), and hide everything else using steady state so the only option they have is to save on the data partition. As for internet access we are not going to allow this and it will simply be used for Office homework etc.

    Netbooks

Hi there, weve just purchashed a large number of netbooks and i am faced with some problems with I hope someone may be able to advise. The pupils are to be allowed to take them home to do homework on (word processing etc.) Cached credentials works fine - the problem i am faced with now is we used re-directed menus here and obviously that wont work at home. The other problem is that if a student does work at home how can i make it possible for them to then transfer it to their work area on logon? Historically we dont allow users access to the C drive on their logons. Any advice or any other tips would be greatly appreciated
  5. Thanks for this, one last question - When I upgrade the ADM file will I have to re-enter all of the original settings?
  6. Hello, I have a number of machines that I am going to upgrade to IE8 from IE6. My question is - If i import the adm file for IE8 into GPMC before ive upgraded all of the stations, will this new adm still control the settings for IE6? (Homepage proxy etc etc.)
  7. Hi Guys, We have on our Network an old Iomega Nas 400m. Recently it got infected with the Conficker virus (marvellous). Since then it no longer works, we cannot connect it to the network. I have also tried on an isolated switch with no joy. Does anybody know how I could get around this. The fantastic design only allows you to administer remotely. As it is so old the Recovery DVD has gone walkabout so thats not an option for us - unless anyone has one they could share?! Many Thanks
  8. For the past couple of days our Exchange server has been used to spam people. When I look through the Message tracking centre I see messages from [email protected] thousands of times. I have checked different knowledge bases and our server isnt an open relay from what I Can gather. Does anybody have any ideas of how to stop this? Thanks.

  20. Ive got a problem on Exchange that I need some help on please!! Im trying to create mailboxes for our Year 9's and 10's. When the kids try to log on via OWA it prompts them for their username and password and will not let them in. If I as administrator log on to their mail boxes they are created successfully and after that the kids can log onto their own email accounts. Any ideas? Thanks.
