Make sure all the ports needed are open on your firewall which exchange needs. think webaccess is 443. Also i have had on one install you need to put /owa at the end of line in the address bar eg https://mail.{domain name}.co.uk/owa
-
Thank you. i suspected that but could not find anything concreate to reinforce this.

I know that each access point must have a unique ip address and the access point name must be unique. Just wondered if the ssid needs to be unique for ech access point. cant find much information upon ths

I have seen this before, but never found a solution. But what i did find was that if you start a couple of sessions using the same image and only have 2 pc's going to each ghost cast it ran at a reasonable speed. (2 ghost cast's on the server 4 remote pc's)

I had the same problem with exchange 2007 on monday. I had 2 services which had stopped. as soon as i restarted them everything in the drafts was sent. It is obvious which ones they are as it will have a automatic start next to them and them not running It might have been the exchange transport. but i cant remember which ones they were also check that the system attendent is running

Have 2 budget proposals. the first is the one which you do not stand a chance with. Then when they ask you to resubmit, you submit the second for the items which you want. Then you tend to get most of what you want. Has worked for me for years!

I have had a foxconn board which would not boot if it had 2 sticks of ram in. took one stick out and it worked fine.

Uninstall sp2. I had problems with sp2 and exchange 2007 not being able to install. When i did some digging on sp2 i found there were a load of issues and you had to run some pre requests before installing sp2. My personal opinion is not install sp2 yet. I will try and find that link for the microsoft site with the prerequests on

I have found that alot of printer drivers dont work with 64 bit. I had one this week a hp 2550 and 2300 laserjets. both have windows 2003 x64 drivers avaliable for both intel and amd 64bit cpu's. But in practice the black and white one was dodgy. But the colour one would work. but would not print out in colour. Then there was the best answer i have had off hp tech support for a hp 3550 printer which they say is 64 bit compatable. but will not work with a 64 bit os. There response was the printers were too powerful for the server!! If you have multiple servers install the 64bit os. More software will become avaliable in time.

In the exchange management console. choose recipient and mail box. on the right hand side it gives you an option for new mail box. within here it will allow you to create a user as well as the mailbox into whichever ad container you want.

Exchange 2007 public folders
everton4europe replied to everton4europe's topic in How do you do....it?
Sorted it. I went and created the files i wanted in outlook 2007 accessing the public folders. Then these are picked up in hte 2003 machines. -
Installed exchange 2007 last week and trying to set up public folders which was very easy on exchange 2003. Logging on as system administrator and going through outlook 2003. i can see the public folders but try and create anything in them it gives me a insufficent permissions message. I also get the same message if i try and drag and drop anything to this folder. From what i can see is the permissions are ok and i am granted full control on everything. but nothing is happening. So far i spent a morning on this and not got any further!

I am with zen using Zen 8000 Active paying £21+vat a month 20gb download limit. up to 8mb, and up to 8 static ip addresses as standard. Never had a problem with them, and it is a uk call centre as well (based in Rochdale)

When i used trend i found they used to give quite good discount rates. but it still worked out at about £13 per pc for the sme. But the move up to the enterprise edition was freightening. I found it cheaper not to go through my lea. But if you go to a trend reseller and let slip what price sophos are offering they will drop the price to get the sale. Download the trial of Grisoft network edition. It does work well, it did take alot of convincing to move from trend, after trialing it i liked it. Not as user friendly as trend.
-
Used to use trend. when you install trend it searches for any old av you may have and removes it for you. This does this on the client machines as well. The only issue i had with trend was the cost. I moved away from them this year and now use Grisoft Network edition with malware. 2 year licence at a qtr of the cost of trend

I use papercuts. i dont know who there uk supplier is now as it used to be time computers. it is simple and does the job http://papercut.biz/

i have been in touch with rm support and they are very vague and just say they have had this problem for a while but never found a cure. but if you run the msi files it will work. but doing it this way it does not install the datastores
