  1. I'm currently trying to change our crap backup routine, using WIndows Server 2008 R2 backup. I want to use Backup Exec but have a question, apologies in advance if it seems like an obvious or daft question. I'm completely new to backup exec. I have two servers. One DC and one FILE /SIMS/FMS server. Now, is it better to run separate installs of backup exec on each server? or run one instance, on a third server and use that to back up the two main servers, over the network? I hope that makes sense.
  2. I agree. I turn my pc on then start to take my coat off, flick the kettle on etc.. now it's at log in screen before I've got my coat off.. brilliant.
  3. One work around, is to open iplayer in internet explorer from the desktop. It then runs in the background while you do what ever you need to do. Both on the desktop and on the metro apps/start
  4. I love it. Started using on a laptop at home first, now using it on my pc at work and I absolutely love it. Yes it takes some getting used to, yes there are a few more mouse clicks to get to things but once you get used to it I've found it to be extremely quick and easy to use. The only issue I have at the moment is some apps don't work behind our proxy. THings like Kerrang Radio and news apps. Mail, Calendar and stuff like that all works fine.
  5. @localzuk thanks. That's a shame, hopefully they'll sort it soon. I'm getting around it by 'pinning' it or how ever you'd like to say it, to the right hand side of my screen so it's still running whilst i'm doing other things.
  6. I've just tried the pop out player and it still doesn't work. As soon as I press start or go to another open window, playback stops.
  7. I've had a look and can't see this posted anywhere else. Has anyone else had an issue with playing media in internet explorer and then it stopping when you move to another application or screen? I've set a radio program playing on bbc iplayer. As soon as go to the metro start menu the play back stops. It stops if I change to mail or the calendar or any of the other open applications I have running. I've tried music play back through the music player and that works no matter what you open but media from a webpage stops. Anyone else come across this?
  8. sorry to ask a different question but I'm setting Robocopy up now and just want to ask, does the MIR switch mean that the copy will be incremental? I've read that on another site but want to make sure that's correct before i include it
  9. We have just started running this software. I've not had chance to look into how to create an MSI for it or to roll it out. We've just put it on a few laptops to test. Do you have problems with it not always picking up the sensors properly? We are having a big issue with it not always picking up. It just doesn't see them at all.

  11. I've just bought a HP Pavilion G6 for the head teacher. £310 ex VAT Core i3 processor 6gb RAM 500Gb Hard disk only 1 year warranty but you can probably push that upto 3 year per laptop and still come in under or on your £350 budget.
  12. Just passed the link to minecraftedu over to our ICT Co-ordinator. Could be useful.
