Worth bearing in mind, and correct me if I'm wrong, it'll only work with i3/5/7 devices, not older Core 2 or Core devices. Bit shitty if you ask me.

We recently sold a couple hundred headphones (£2 a pop) to a primary school which opted to keep a certain amount spare for 'breakages' in the server room, and use a sticky backed hook on the rear of screens, as well as cable ties to keep them. Seems to have worked well from the feedback I've had.

As for erased, without an iCloud backup, iTunes backup or .ipsw saved, don't think thats possible. As for the passcode, it is possible by putting the device in DFU mode and doing some tinkery, that being said, I don't know more than that, only it is possible, as I've seen it be done. I'd suggest YouTube it, you'll likely find a rath of videos explaining it.

Though I can't speek for experience using a Interactive Projector, I've plenty experience using & selling SMART and Promethean boards, and from experience you've two methods of connecting an iPad, thats AirPlay through an Apple TV, or through a VGA/HDMI adaptor that plugs in directly to the iPad 30-pin. I ASSUME, if Interactive Projectors work anything like SMART and Promethean boards you'll need a third party software installed to interprit the input (pen, movement etc) and then relay that back to the computer (or iPad in your case). Unfortunately, unless one of these companies comes out with an iPad App which provides said input, its unlikely anything you get will give you true interactivity with an iPad, or even an Andriod device for that matter - though you should be able to project your iPad screen through the Apple TV/Adaptor without issue. Only other suggestion is you look into using something like a computer/laptop with something such as RDP or VNC installed, which in turn can then be controlled remotely by the iPad (through an App - there are loads of RDP or VNC ones available). This is an awkward route, but would allow you full functionality, and teachers the freedom to roam the room, and use their iPad AND the Interactive Board/Projector as an input. +1 for the UnoCarts mentioned earlier, we have sold a few of those so far with excellent reviews thus far. Another thing I notice nobody has mentioned, you can create a single exchange account, and link that across all devices, allows you to use some decent features through ActivSync device policies (through OWA on the Manage My Organisation Section - Exch 2010/07). Some features of ActivSync Device Policies that WORK with Apple (some features available don't) are: - Require a password (enforce strengths available - Password lifetimes - Enable/Disable Text messaging - Enable/Disable Camera - Allow WiFi - Allow Bluetooth Plus, its free & most people already have exchange servers - so I guess its just 1 CAL really. Happen to agree with that, i5 isn't a must, an i3 would adequately serve any purpose its tasked with for normal teacher use. Though, I'd suggest if you have the budget, going higher spec now means you're going to get a longer service life out of the machines, but, not everyone has the budget.

Promethean are all sold through Computer2000. Just logged into their site and whilst they're still showing the plugs as available, their stock is 0, so It's doubtful you'll be able to buy them through any vendors, unless ofc they've a stock pile still! Thankfully you seem covered by all the generous EduGeek members and their hoarding ways!

C660's are a consumer product, hence why they ship from Toshiba with W7HP as opposed to W7P, though they'd do the job when upgraded to W7P (at a cost). Fujitsu A530/A531's have been good for us recently, cheap, W7P, 6hr battery, i3, 2GB, 320GB and free 3 yr on-site for education users. Decent value, easily cleaned (vital) and sturdy as hell. Other than that, HP business class machines always hold up well, but are excessively priced for the spec, imo.

Nothing wrong with recent Fujitsu equipment, Fuj Siemens are a bit more questionable. Recent Fujtisu equipment comes with a free 3 yr on-site next day warranty for all education customers, bought through an appropriate vendor that is.
