Hello, Just having a bit of back and forth with our friends at Microsoft support. For a little while now, our staff haven't been able to set Out of Office, or signatures via OWA. The relatively new account settings pane, where these features have moved to is completely blank. I've done plenty of checks - mailbox policies aren't getting in the way, and CAS and OWA features are all enabled as they out to be. Setting OOO via powershell or admin centre does work, so the functionality is there on the backend. I spoke to support, and they are basically giving me a LLM generated response telling me to upgrade from Microsoft 365 A1 for Faculty to A3, because having these settings in OWA is apparently a "premium" feature. This can't be right can it?! Does anyone else see the same behaviour? Thanks in advance!

Hello, I've a job lot of HP colour lasers up for grabs after moving to a managed print service. In total, we have 7x 2600's and 3x 2550's. All in a heavy used state, so could possibly do with a bit of a service. I can also chuck in some toner. I need to get rid by the middle of next week, so if I don't have any takers by then, I'll have to call in the recycling people. Ideally I'd like someone to take the lot, or at least a big chunk of them. They are available for pickup now in Bradford, BD9 6LL. I had the same issue with white lines and graphics glitches on our 320s. I passed a kernel arg to set the VGA mode, can't remember which mode I chose in the end, but thats the general direction you need to be looking. Also ACPI=off helps with these machines. Good luck. FOG is amazing when it behaves itself. Edit: If you use vga=ask you will be presented with a list of modes to experiment with

Never used BoardMaker, so I'm just guessing here. If it's a requirement you have a CD in the drive to install, and can't just run the setup over the network, you could maybe look at something like virtual clone drive which will create a virtual CD drive. You'll just need to mount an ISO image of the CD.

Having one of those days. Long story short, I need a way of changing the proxy address on a bunch of laptops and other machines which aren't the domain. I've done something similar before in DNS, where I created a record which pointed myproxy.myserver.com to a different IP address of a different proxy, this seemed to work well. I don't know how I can do it the other way round this time (I need to change the IP of the old proxy on the machines, to either the IP/Hostname of the new proxy) I don't know much about PAC/WPAD, is there anything magical there I can take advantage of? Short of visiting each machine, is there an easy way to do this?

Yes, in a couple of the cabs we have just one fibre uplink, 48 port seems the way to go. To be honest, the only benefit I can think of for 2 24s is that if you have one fail, you could jiggle classes round in an area while you sorted the other half out. I'll be keeping hold of what we take out, so they'd just slot back in if we had any problems though. Noise isn't an issue as they are all in stockrooms. Thanks for your input everyone.

We're looking at replacing some of our older 10/100 24 port switches with gigabit. In a couple of cabs we have 2 24 port switches. Do you think we should go for 48 port models for these? What are your opinions, what are the pros and cons? It will be Netgear stuff we go with. Thanks

Apologies for digging up an old thread, but if you got here how I did looking into the Flowol 2 errors at startup, you can fix it by turning on Windows 95 compatibility mode, and giving read/write access to the program directory. This works on a normal XP desktop, haven't tried this over terminal services.
