That's Ok. It is literally an account called [email protected]. We made it a shared mailbox, so as not to use a license. Potentially you could create a mailbox per service to prevent confusion but we've just gone with one. We also setup a automatic reply to let anyone who emails it by accident that it is a non-monitored account.

We use O365 SMTP details for things like that. We have created a noreply email account that can be used if it needs user details.

This is the route we went. It isn't perfect but allows staff to bring files in but not take them out. Allows visitors access to their files and allows people to copy photos off camera cards. The only confusion staff had was how to delete or format a card on the camera.

Check with your reseller but we are able to give special codes from onthehub.com that allow staff to get Office for a tenner. There is no link to the school, but I think in the terms and conditions staff are meant to remove it once they leave, which of course we make staff cross their heart and hope to die, and pinky swear to doing. We give the option of that or download from O365 for free and only be able to use it while they are employees. Most people take that option. The download is the full version of Office.

Azure Portal > Azure Active Directory > Licenses > All Products. Choose Pro Plus you want to assign, click Licensed Groups and then Assign groups you want it to apply to. From then on licenses will be applied as long as there is enough.

Tom Scott - Covers interesting things, like computing, places and facts. Just has a nice way about him. Various FailRace Forza Horizon 4 videos - His Survive the Hunt, Hunt the survivors and historic races are just fun. SortedFood - Interesting food challenges Jay Foreman - In his own words "Very silly educational videos". Not many unfortunately but very interesting. Then various videos related to games, depending on what I am playing, dash cam channels are a bit of a weak spot of mine and finally Mock the Week clips

This always gets me. You have to make sure the printer is applied to the card design in Card Designer and then Net2 prints to that printer. EDIT: I think you have to open the design, click the bubble in the top left, go to options at the bottom of that menu and then select the printer. Save the card design and then reopen Net2. Pretty sure this has to be done for each design.

Depends on how much you want to monitor. We use the free version of PRTG and it is great, 100 sensors. A sensor is anything you are measuring, so if you wanted every port on every switch you'd run into trouble, we just use ping to check switches are up and monitor the WAN connection. We also monitor VMWare environment, key servers, SIP trunk, website, SAN and appliances such as Smoothwall and Ruckus boxes. The maps are great and we have them showing up on our signage so if something breaks we have a visual and audible sound. Variety of graphs, ring graphs and traffic lights are available. Runs on Windows so just need a spare VM or room on a current one. Can't recommend enough, and if it came to it I would pay. Keeps us ahead of the game and looks very impressive to visitors.

Does Google Drive not have versioning?

We signed Feb for a September start, but had been talking to iSAMS for quite a few years before that. The Feb time period included training and doing two data migrations, both full data imports. Be very clear with the migrator what you want to do as I had said from the beginning that we wanted to do an initial migration for training and then a fresh migration to remove any errors that would introduced while people got used to the system. This allowed me to assure people to play and not worry about breaking the data. When it came to the second full import the migrator was a bit unhappy that I wanted a full import, even though I had said that previously, as they were busy. Stuck to my guns and it was done but there was a definite annoyance from then on. I have spoken to some schools that have done it in less time but you need to bear in mind that once Summer starts it is harder to get people in for training and to get decisions on important things that management should decide. If you go ahead I have some SQL scripts that I used to extract the data. I won't guarantee that they still work, as we were on the old PASS system, not 3SYS, and I have no idea if the Database schema has changed, but as a basis they may save you some time. I know in VMWare there is something, and sorry I am scrabbling for the technical name, that checks that applications are running OK and if they don't get a response they reboot the VM. The issue comes if the timeout is set too low. Does Hyper-V have anything like this? EDIT: VM Monitoring I think, can be set to monitor the VM or an application. We had to contact OpenReach when we wanted to get our old system tided up, which was trying to remove as many of the 9 of these that we had. Took about 9 months though with a 'full survey' (guy came, took photos, commented he wasn't sure why they sent him, and the photos were lost as no one from then on had ever seen them), and they sub-contracted it out to a company that destroyed various lines. Whole process was tedious, long winded and we never knew what was going on, with periods of absolute silence with no easy way to follow up. Boxing it in sounds an easier prospect. EDIT: ohh and the cost was stupid in the end for the service we got.

Does anyone know enough about sailing to know why they have turned sharp North-West? Is it just because they are tacking across the wind or are they trying to avoid that mass of swirly winds SouthWest of them?

If you have hybrid then it should be written as long as you are creating users in AD first. We also use Salamander so rely on that.

Don't do it.

We use Plantronic Voyager Focus. Used to use them with a Bluetooth dongle in the phone but now only use the Windows Client. The headsets also are used as our PC headphones. Our Receptionist uses either a Voyager 5200 or Legend, can never remember which. Don't forget that if you are using them with Yealink phones you need a Yealink special Bluetooth dongle (BT40 I think).

I may be wrong, as I have never fully got my head around this, but I think unless you have a hybrid setup this will not work. You need to have an onsite Exchange instance to have the Exchange schema extensions and to allow AD to be updated locally. Or something like that.

Doesn't help you but I've not come across anything that bests Veeam yet.

So Nov next year. 18 months support. It will still work after that but how happy are you to have unsupported devices as part of tour infrastructure?

Be very careful. I'm sure they are coming out of support soon and Asus are not making a replacement. We got a few and found they were ok for text only display but the minute you started adding a few graphics or a video they started to get stressed. There is also no way to schedule a shutdown or a reboot. I know they are low power but having them on 24/7 didnt sit well with me and we had no way to reboot them regularly to clear any issues.

You should be able to backup the config so that you can restore it to a fresh install, save you some time if you have put effort in.
