  1. hmmm... I use 3 fingers when entering my pin, so my wrist doesn't really move... interesting theory though.
  2. Appalling.
  3. We just have some cheapo point and shoot cameras. CPC is a good place. These look good for the money - VIVITAR - VX022-BLU-INT - DIGITAL CAMERA, 10.1MP, VX022, BLUE | CPC UK they have them in other colours too. You should be able to buy SD cards too with that budget. Then these ones are the next ones up: http://cpc.farnell.com/vivitar/vs425-pur/digital-camera-16mp-l-ion-vs425/dp/PY31985 bit more expensive, more megapix and zoom.
  4. Yeah you have to do it when peeps be logged out ideally.
  5. can you not do it on the folder that holds these and propigate down through the file structure? Then in AD, choose the kids, go to profile, home drive and type in the location \\server\pupil home\intake12\%username% There is probably a script that does it like...
  6. I give guestimates. So eg/ I tend to replace things like heavily used machines when their 3 year warranty is up. Servers when warranty is up - mainly because it needs a new OS by that time aswell. I also put stuff in there like software renewals and whatnot. PM me if you want to see my 5 year plan.
  7. I used to sign in with a regular itunes account and install apps off that with blueprints. That was 2.0 though. Don't know if it's different now.
  8. With my EES agreement I didn't get server keys, so I had to pay something like £39 to add them on. I then installed Hyper V on my 2008 R2 box and installed 2012 R2. I then made the VM my KMS server. ET VOILA!
  9. I don't use backups in AC I just use blueprints to add apps and arrange the tiles.
  10. Yeah the Parotec cases are super sturdy. I think you can buy them with built in cables or just USB ports for you to use the cables that came with the iPads. Only down side is that they can get trapped in the case. I've managed to show kids how to plug them in and to watch out for trapping cables - it's staff that don't check!
  11. I know that NOW Just makes it easier to install all the software though ya know?
  12. I think I've come to the realisation that I need to do something now. 8 months of not going to the gym has taken its toll. Step 1 - sort out eating habits (very hard) Step 2 - exercise (must get motivation!) I should have been referred to a dietitian by now about my food intolerances, but nothing 4 weeks later. Hmmm.
  13. Yeah they are a nightmare. What I think was happening with me - I had a GPO set to block apps. So when I attached my image machine to the domain it faffed with them and then it wouldn't sysprep. So then I used Windows 10 LTSB and didn't attach it to the domain to install software. That seemed to remedy all of my issues.
  14. I'd forget to do that because I'm ditzy as all hell!!
  15. You need to do the same as above but your issue is with the xbox app -
  16. I have laptops for all our teachers. We use One Drive because it is free with O365. I've insisted that everyone taking laptops home uses it. I allow staff local admin rights, because I sure as hell aint putting a password in every time someone needs to update java. I have had minimum issues because staff know that this is a WORK laptop and they can't be installing games and letting their kids loose on it. Staff here are pretty good though...
  17. OK I'm actually going to do some times now... I've been a bit vague with mine! I've just re-imaged a machine with a HDD. I'll be re-imaging machines with SSDs later so can do the comparison! Core i3, 4GB RAM, HDD - First Logon - 1:28 - Second Logon (after restart) - 0:32 I know for a fact that the SSDs are hugely quicker. I just haven't timed them right after a re-image
  18. I have a random question too. So I use VPP to deploy apps. What happens to the licenses if I wipe my iPads? Will it know that the iPads plugged in had the licenses assigned to them previously? Or do I have to remove licenses before wiping? I like to wipe them before September. New start.
  19. They aren't cheap. Around £1500. Depends on the supplier and the iPad configuration. Mine were 24 port, so 16 port might be a bit cheaper Supplier list is here - http://parotec-it.co.uk/stockists-uk
  20. I agree with most of what @zhinkler says. For printing I have always used the printer manufacturer app - eg/ We have Konica Copiers, so we use PS Mobile. If you have an other brand of printer there should be an app for it. For saving I use dropbox to aid transfer of things like comic life saves or whatever. I set dropbox up on the server and I point it to the Staff Shared area. So when someone saves to dropbox on the iPad it syncs to the server and then the teachers can print them from there or save to a more secure place. In regards to the trolley, I really like Parotec ones. I have the iNsync ones... Charge, Sync, Store, Protect Multiple iPad & Tablet Devices
  21. I do it this way and it works with Server 2012 R2 and Windows 10. but you would need to change that BUILTIN\Administrators bit. Check what groups are available on a test client first and add them to the one you want.
  22. but it's using the same DC300i software on each machine. If I extend the desktop it works fine. If I do 2nd display only it works fine. But won't do both!
  23. I had this problem. It is indeed all about the Windows Store apps. Even if you just move the tile of the start menu it causes it to fail. I know this doesn't help now, but try doing an image with Windows 10 LTSB. Found it less problematic when sysprepping. ish.
  24. The plot thickens. I have a spare visualiser I have brought into my office. 2nd screen is an ASUS monitor - HDMI input. Toshiba Satellite Pro C850 - Windows 10 Education - Works Fine on both screens. Resolution 1366 x 768. Toshiba Satellite Pro C50 - Windows 10 LTSB - displays on 2nd screen only. Resolution 1366 x 768. Very-PC SS Notebook - Windows 10 LTSB - displays on laptop screen only. Resolution 1920 x 1080 - also tried 1366 x 768, but same issue. Toshiba Tecra Z50 (I think) - Windows 10 Education - displays on laptops screen only. Resolution 1366 x 768. I'm very confused. Driver issue perhaps? All are using whatever Windows downloads for them.
  25. Aight, got an issue with the software that comes with the visualisers and could do with brainstorming some ideas. Currently: Windows 10 laptop - HDMI - Clevertouch Board. Image is set to duplicate. When you launch the software the camera displays fine on the laptop, but not on the board. You can extend desktops and drag the optoma window across and get the image on the screen, but then you can't use the built in annotation software. This also doesn't work if you have second screen only. The software works fine with all the same hardware, but machine on Windows 7. IS THERE... any alternative software that I can use with them? Fanks in advance.
