@robk The reader came from Altman as part of our secureprint solution but I've seen them on uk websites for cheaper than what Altman charge. The pcProxConfig does allow a prefix to be set and it works however I'm struggling to make it output ~ as it's configured in the s/w with an onscreen keyboard that appears to be a US layout one and where the ~ is on that keyboard outputs the wrong character on my system. I wouldn't start small claims proceedings yet without getting some legal advise. It costs you £25 to lodge it in the first instance with the online service and is straightforward to follow they send the details to the other party and then you go from there. Ben

That entirely depends on his EPOS system really and whether it has the capability of anyway to write a plugin or additional s/w to handle that side of things without knowing what it is impossible to say. Ben

Storing the data on the cards is potentially a DP nightmare although if he's storing customer details in his pc system he'll have to be registered anyway. Better to just put a barcode on the card that can then be scanned by his normal barcode scanner. Ben
