Assistant/Trainee Project Manager – Based in the South - £20k + Car allowance We currently have an excellent opportunity as an Assistant/Trainee project manager to join a busy and committed team within a well-established education focused company, who work with the following technologies, Windows Server Oss ,Server virtualisation (VMWare, Hyper-V, XenServer), Infrastructure experience (HP networking, WiFi,), Storage (SAN, NAS), Active Directory, Group Policy. Network security (firewalls, routers, web filters, AV), Network backup (Symantec Backup Exec), Network services (DNS, DHCP, SQL, IIS, File and Print), MS Exchange/Office 365, Desktop deployment (Windows 7/8). The successful applicant will work along Project Manager and the Project support team in delivering ICT solutions to schools and colleges across the country. Excellent communication skills and previous IT experience within education are essential. The understanding of project management methodologies (prince 2), attention to detail in all communications, Natural Leadership qualities, creative problem solver are all desirable skills. A full clean driving license and DBS check are also required for this role. SCHOOL ENGINEER – Worcestershire - £18-£21K We are currently looking for a Managed Service Engineer to join the IT support team in the Birmingham area. Based in a large secondary school, your day-to-day duties will include: diagnosing and fixing device problems, user access issues, projector/whiteboard problems, adding users, print management, checking backups, help manage Service Desk tickets as they are added and be able to prioritise issues that affect Teaching and Learning. Experience in previous IT support within an educational environment is essential and knowledge of: Network support in an educational environment, Windows Server and desktop Oss, infrastructure experience (switches, Wi-Fi), active Directory, VDI/thin clients, network backup (Symantec Backup Exec), network services (File and Print), desktop deployment (Windows 7/8/Apple) A CRB check is required for this role and a full, clean driving licence is desirable. We currently have a permanent role available as a Project Manager Consultant/ Project Manager Officer/ PMO reporting to the Technical Consultancy Manager. Working for a private company based out of a Croydon office but also covering schools across London. The main focus of this role is to coordinate and deliver technology projects. The post holder will also need to support schools remotely and on site to make sure they are kept up to date with how schools use technology. Your duties will include: Analysis of existing school network infrastructure to determine project requirements, create project analyses, liaising with third parties, suppliers, customers and colleagues in regards to all project matters, devise contingency plans, project sign off and handover with customers, build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project, team lead project installations and co-ordinate tasks for other technical staff, carry out regular technical onsite support visits unsupervised, train on-site ICT contact on basic troubleshooting and pro-active maintenance tasks, escalate unresolved support issues to Technical Support Manager, complete site visit reports after each site visit, escalate any requests for advice (procurement or strategic) to Technical Consultancy Team, monitoring the installation of projects to make sure they have been installed and work correctly, liaise with Technical Consultancy Manager to research and evaluate undertake other such duties that may be considered appropriate. In order to apply for this role It is essential that you have an understanding in the use of technology in the education sector, educational software and hardware, you must be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of basic technology systems configurations in schools, with the ability to carry out inventories and technical assessments, report writing and 3rd line helpdesk. Also using the following: Microsoft Windows client operating systems, Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, Microsoft networking technologies, Backup technologies, including NT Backup, Veritas/Symantec Backup Exec, Antivirus systems, including Symantec and Sophos, Server and Computer Hardware, Networking infrastructure - cabling, routers, managed switches, Microsoft TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft Office applications and IT Systems configuration and build. Technician/Field Engineer/IT Consultant – North East London - £25-28,000 Long running schools AV, Infrastructure and ICT Support Company requires their next field based engineer to promote the effective use of ICT in schools in a growing area of their business in and around Waltham Forest. The main requirement is to monitor technical and curricular developments in ICT to further contribute to the shared vision of ICT in schools and provide support and development to further that vision. You will have experience of Windows 2003, 2008, 2012, Windows 7/8, and Mac OSx networks. Be able to undertake basic maintenance, hardware and software, peripherals, administer user accounts, monitor backups, work with ICT coordinators to identify staff training needs, upgrades, documentation etc. You will understand networking, IP, lgfl, internet etc and ideally have your CCNA, MCSA, MCP or relevant hands on experience. UK Implementation Manager A global MIS software company with a newly developed total MIS and VLE product are looking for an implementation manager who can help schools migrate their data into a new cloud based mis/vle system. Our client has recently invested in a new, cloud based, fully integrated MIS and VLE that is currently being internationalised for the global market. This is a fantastic opportunity to get on board at the start of an exciting and ambitious, development period with a new service that is due to be rolled out initially in the UK and then worldwide. Key responsibilities of the role will be to; devise processes to help automate the migration process for the most common MIS and VLE systems currently used in schools, create help manuals and tools to facilitate customers to migrate their own data, plan and run webinars and workshops to help the school get started with the new system. We currently have a requirement for a technician to provide 1st line support with some 2nd line who can start immediately to help support a fantastic secondary school in East London. The ideal candidate will have some previous 1st line IT support experience within education. The successful candidate will also have to undergo an enhanced CRB check. The role will start of on a temp basis paying between £80-£110p/day through an umbrella with the potential to go perm pending job evaluation.
