Foundation Degree in IT Buisness and Networking
ashleyrobinson replied to HMCTech's topic in Courses and Training
I do a Foundation degree in IT and Technical Support, We Take all of the materials but dont take the actual certified exams (be aware). Its a great course, I do it once a week on a wednesday after evening. But as far as i know, not alot of the industry don't recognise it as a qualification and would prefer MCSE/MCSA Ash -

RM Local Support Tools
ashleyrobinson replied to Jiberoony's topic in Network and Classroom Management
if your going to use LST just for waking up/shutting down stations, then i'd advise against and get something better (like beyondexec, Lanview) It is useful to see whos logged onto which station and current status though. but depends on cost to you. Ash- 11 replies

shame, i would have gone for this job if the pay was better and it was full-time! I am an ICT/AV technician at the moment, this is just above what i started on, so not a bad job, its a shame i am doing the same job and earning more, except im full time. i'd advise an specialist IT to get involved in AV also, improves your options for the future.

have so far been nothing but friendly, seem to know their stuff which is unusual for some supply companies. Delivery is usually quick and there always keen to beat prices, which when on a tight budget lik eourselves is fantastic. Have changed from my previous supplier to these guys because the prices are outstanding. Great guys, good business. Will definately be using more. Ash

do you know the company you could be working for? its always a bit of a gamble, best thing to do is go along to an interview, look around, then see what you think, if you have already done this and there waiting for you to say yes, you could always go and stick through it, if its more cash chances are your not going to be as comfortable as your are in education, if its cash you need, go for it, but if your happy where you are and dont want anything more, stay where you are. in the same situation myself at the minute, except working for our county Ash

you need to turn on message tracking first, but this is the best (and only?) way. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998971.aspx Ash

you may find that some laptops, especially older ones cannot support video playback on both screens plugged directly into projector even with all of the above options. best option is a video splitter or to display on one screen at a time (using fn+f5/f7/f8 whiechever the laptop switch screen combo is.
