  1. My tech says 'pacific' instead of 'specific' and it drives me bonkers, if that counts?
  2. I may not be the best to reply as my bike doesn't see all that much use at the moment (owing to there being naff all to do in rural Somerset), and it is only a 125, but personally I: Knock off the the throttle (or feather the brake, if needed) Lean in Open the throttle again to keep momentum* Upright when applicable. * As long as the throttle is open, and you're still moving forward, your momentum will keep you in the turn. Of course mine is an auto, so gears isn't something I need to worry about, YMMV. The important one is to drop your speed and get your positioning right before the turn. It's much better to go in too slow than too fast. My bike does not like me braking whilst leaning. As for speed, I tend to still be a little slow in them, on a 30mph road I'll probably be taking corners at 25. at 50, I'm doing around 40-42. Also look where you want to be. Instinct does a lot of the work. If you're fearfully looking at the edge of the road because you're scared to go into it - you're gonna!
  3. Whoops, Defender is now telling me I need to enable LAPS on the machines Option 1 - Set the following Group Policy: Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\LAPS\Enable Local Admin Password Management To the following value: Enable Bit of an own-goal there, Microsoft!
  4. Yep, probably should've come and updated this thread, oops. That was the issue. (Also, we're not hybrid enough to be hybrid, apparently, so despite running Azure AD Connect, having a DC in Azure, etc we can only back up to local AD) InTune still has the old policies, by the look of it.
  5. Hmm, digging through that article it mandates setting setting the Configure password backup directory to back up the password to Active Directory. GPO. Except that GPO doesn't exist, at least not in the Administrative Templates section of the Compliance Policy in InTune, which makes me assume if you set it via InTune it's going to decide for you to save to Azure. Which would make sense. Except when I go to Local administrator password recovery (Preview) for a device that the Device assignment status says has successfully applied, I get this popup
  6. Aha, just before you posted that I found yet another Microsoft article detailing the Set-LapsADComputerSelfPermission cmdlet that lets a device actually set its own password - makes sense! So I've set that and told 2 machines to expire their passwords, fingers crossed! I'll take a more detailed look at that article if this falls flat. Thank you Edit: Hmm, nothing yet. LAPS tab still shows the expiry as of 20 minutes ago but still no name or password..
  7. Well I'm glad it's a native part of Windows now, but this new version is becoming a bit more of a hassle than the old MSI flavour! So.. I have confirmed the machines have installed the April 2023 update, and have LAPS available, due to the presence of C:\Windows\System32\Laps.dll I have extended my directory schema by executing Update-LapsADSchema, and granted Domain Admins read and write permissions via Set-LapsADReadPasswordPermission -allowedprincipals "Domain Admins" -Identity 'DC=domain,DC=com' and Set-LapsADResetPasswordPermission -allowedprincipals "Domain Admins" -Identity 'DC=domain,DC=com' I have enforced LAPS via InTune, keeping the default settings Do not allow password expiration time longer than required by policy: Enabled Enable local admin password management: Enabled Password Settings: Enabled Password Age (Days) (Device): 30 Password Complexity (Device): Large letters + small letters + numbers + specials Password Length (Device): 14 I can confirm the Enable local admin password management, Do not allow password expiration time longer than required by policy and Password settings policies are applying successfully, thanks to the Per setting status report. The LAPS tab does appear in computer object properties in AD Users and Computers BBBUUUUUTTTTT.. When I check the devices in AD that have successfully applied the policy as my domain admin account, all the fields are still blank. The msLAPS-EncryptedDSRMPassword, msLAPS-EncryptedDSRMPasswordHistory, msLAPS-EncryptedPassword, msLAPS-EncryptedPasswordHistory, msLAPS-Password and msLAPS-PasswordExpirationTime are all showing as in Attribute Editor Probably going to be something derpy I've missed but.. What have I missed?
  8. I used to play a fair bit of TF2 back in the day. Pyro/Spy main. It's a real shame how hacker infested the game became.
  9. Well, today's Warhammer Community is interesting! tl;dr, Psychic reworked to not just be mind-bullets, Apes Orkz together strong, morale getting some buffs, and some papa space marine I don't really care about
  10. Sounds about right for da orkz, to be fair.
  11. I've seen a lot of folk expecting a genestealer resculpt. I haven't used them for years, but I remember back in 5th they were great melee units (y'know, back when rending claws actually had the rend rule...), but they did have a tendency to hold hands whenever you wanted to move them..
  12. You know, that's a fair assessment. With units now having an Objective Control score, bigger bases means fewer units in range. Base contact is a thing in melee still, anything in contact or within half an inch of something in contact, iirc. Unless it's Hormagaunts, who are in combat within 3 inches, because swarm shenanigans.
  13. Y'know, that's a valid point, although I'm not sure how much more flexibility you get with +3mm. I think that's what happened to the Incubi, anyway.. 25 to 28mm, and I'm sure I've read somewhere that the new 'gants are 28mm too, so I'm assuming that's going to be the standard going forward.
  14. Yeah the base size change can be a bit annoying, I've thankfully managed to always avoid it up until now as Incubi got the base-boost during my hiatus. Not sure why they're faffing about with base sizes since template weapons aren't a thing any more, surely they could just tweak movement/range characteristics instead, but given the level of overhaul I guess I can let it slide (though the cynic in me does agree they'll probably come out with their own base upscalers at £Silly-per-10)
  15. USB-C as a laptop charge port is garbage and I will die on this hill. It's far too fragile. Phones it isn't too bad because the potential stress on the connector is relative to the weight of the device and thus is reasonably low. Laptops? Whole different story. I'm all for standardising charging to do away with all the proprietary landfill, but I think phones/handheld devices and medium-sized/weight portable devices need different connectors.
  16. I've not had anything through the door about voting at all, let alone any changes to it.
  17. Yeah there's probably a reason for that, but I'd get told off so.. The reason for that is probably just because they forgot? Yeah. That's plausible? (I genuinely didn't know this was a thing though, so thanks. I knew they'd proposed it a while ago, but I'd assumed it had gone nowhere after all of the outcry against it)
  18. I don't particularly think the new system is 'based on' the cards, I think the cards are still a supplementary thing you can buy if you want a physical option (or don't own a printer) much like they have been previously, but it feels very much to me that the new system is based on the new rules being free online. I suspect their suspicion is that most people will either print their rules off, or have the web page/pdf/etc for their army on their phone. I haven't really put much thought into it truth be told, but haven't model/wargear points have always been a 'back of the book' thing anyway? I suspect the 'two page rules' for each army they've mentioned a few times is simply stat sheets and keyword explanations (Tyranids' Synapse, Drukhari's Power from Pain, or CSM's prayers immediately spring to mind) with points being kept separate (hey, at least we're losing power values that literally nobody uses?)
  19. Well spotted, I hadn't noticed that! Perhaps they're keeping everything under wraps that to drip-feed, after all the first datacard they released was the Termagant but it only had the Fleshborer on there. Probably not, though. It's likely that squad sizes are on the codex bit, which will include the same "for every X models..." rules we all know and love.
  20. I still use Battlescribe despite owning both my armies codices, it's far simpler, though for 40K that's going the way of the dodo. GeeDubs' lawyers decided to C&D them almost a year ago, so 9th ed will be their last. Their 10th ed articles mentioned a roster builder, so I guess we know why now. Edit: Did some googling, looks like the entire project has been abandoned! 40k must have been the lion's share of their users by a considerable margin!
  21. Just to make things super clear, they've reaffirmed the codex situation (https://www.warhammer-community.com/2023/03/28/warhammer-40000-what-does-the-new-game-mean-for-your-codexes/) I'll probably pick up the datacards because they sound super useful - previously I've made and printed my own pseudo-datacards in Excel for my Drukhari army like the big nerd I am, though I expect these official ones to be a little bit more hard-wearing!
  22. 'Codices' are still required, in the sense that they have your unit datasheets in and you probably want to know what your units stats and abilities are, though not in their current iteration. Purchasing your codex isn't required. 10th edition rules and datasheets are all going to be released 100% for free. They will be selling datacards still, which will have essentially datasheet flashcards in them, so might still be worth buying, but essentially the rulebook and army rules won't cost you a penny if you don't want to spend anything. (https://www.warhammer-community.com/2023/03/24/10th-edition-warhammer-40000-your-questions-answered/)
  23. I haven't actually played since 5th edition (okay, I then dropped out until 9th, but shush) but the leaks for 10th definitely seems like the right direction. Some bits of 9th seem needlessly complicated ('nids have 2 different deep strike rules, for example) Though suddenly I'm less enthusiastic about painting now that I know new sculpts are coming (although the new 'gants do look great, admittedly)
  24. Me neither! I always just assumed that was the 'end' of the ski slope. You get so far down and the yeti eats you. Unavoidable. Guaranteed failure state. But in later life, I did find out there's a button to ski faster! I think it's F? With that you can outrun the yeti and ski infinitely (or until you crash) Aaand purchased, as well as the Titanic game.
  25. My earliest gaming memory would probably be when I got a Sega Mega Drive, with the Master System converter add-on thing. So many great memories (y'know, way back when, before publishers started nickel-and-diming their player-bases!) Numerous Sonic the Hedgehog titles, Alex Kidd, Krusty's Super Fun House, Altered Beast, that stupid Aladdin game where the Genie would just be like 'er, I dunno?' in the magic carpet section.. My earliest PC gaming memory would have to be Chip's Challenge on floppy disk! Never did actually manage to complete that.. I just found out it's actually on Steam now! Might have to pick that up... And no PC gaming memoir can be written without mentioning the copious hours spend on Unreal Tournament.. If I had to pick one game that summarised how I got into computers as yoof, it'd be UT99. GOTY edition, patch 436. Why do I still remember that? Edit: new memory unlocked, Titanic: Adventure Out Of Time (which I've just seen is also on Steam).. A wonderful puzzle game I did manage to complete but never really to any satisfaction.. Another soon-to-be-purchased, I think!
