  1. If you want to manage the chromebooks using Google apps, you must buy them from a Google authorised reseller otherwise you will get stung for another £20 per chromebook.
  2. The Dell Chromebook 11's are good machines. We have some of the 2014 model and they are well made and the size was considered ideal for classroom use.
  3. Why 2 separate accounts? I presume you have a windows domain with active directory? If so then run ad sync and password sync for both 0365 and Google, everyone logs on with their ad credentials. Use your prefered system for email.
  4. Agree with jwzg. Google apps all the way.
  5. We have started using them with very positive feedback. They come into there own when you setup Google apps (we sync ad users and groups) and use the mdm tools. The Google classroom app is great. Students just login to the chrome book with their email and password and it syncs all their work etc on their drive. Faster than Windows 8 laptops too.
  6. Have used Lanschool for years. Teachers like it. Easy install.
  7. We use eop exclusively for email filtering but with local exchange 2010. It works well. You won't need anything else.
  8. I've been after one of these for a while and there currently isn't one. I understand there would be a Microsoft licensing cost for potential developers. I contacted our regional google manager the other day about this and he is going to find out if anyone knows of one being developed. You would have thought it would be in the interest of Microsoft to get one made.
  9. We have recently set up both and Google apps is easier to manage and migrate to. From a user standpoint teachers and pupils find the google platform with the classroom app very user friendly and great for education purposes. MS are behind from an educational standpoint. Google apps also seems to work better across all types of devices. The only feature google apps lacks , that MS sharepoint can provide, is a central place for shared teacher /student resources (Google apps requires every document is owned by a user). Google apps also has a useful mobile device management tool if you use tablets, chromebooks etc.
