For those who bought Starwind HCA, did you get a demo of it prior also which supplier did you use, i like the idea of this setup but want to know more about it, how long warranty, are they VMware compatible? Thanks as always in advance.

Yes briefly, as i understand vsan is the software that sits on the network and essential aggregates any local or DAS storage, a little like storage spaces, although i have zero exposure to vsan and i'm relatively new to vmware (but like it alot so far).

@AButters if you don't use SANs can I ask where your VMS etc are stored or do you have physical boxes? thanks for your input so far.

Hi all I'm looking to get three new servers that will support the latest and greatest Vmware esxi products and a new SAN with around 30TB of storage that will host all of my VMs, at present i'm just looking at what folk are recommending at present and any ideas or views that could help steer me. Hi all does anyone know how to upgrade dpm 2012r2 remote management on a client workstation? i ran it initially from the cd to install on the work station but since this is a fairly old install and losts of subsequent updates since the cd was issued the remote admin tools won't connect to our dpm servers so i need to bring the remote admin up to date as per https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh859552.aspx except it gives no instructions.. Hi all I want to create a powershell script to run during my mdt task sequence that will A. rename a local folder called 'test folder' and rename it to the local machine name b share that newly renamed folder as is its computer name c. give full permissions to a group called itadmins this is what I have so far Rename-Item "c:\test folder" $env:computername Get-ChildItem Env:COMPUTERNAME | select -exp value New-SMBShare –Name value –Path “C:\Env:COMPUTERNAME” ` –ContinuouslyAvailable ` –FullAccess domain\itadmin ` So part A works ok but part B and thus part C do not, I know that this Get-ChildItem Env:COMPUTERNAME | select -exp value returns the machine name so I need to know how to then use that later to create the share and set the permissions complete powershell noob but giving it a go and as always any help gratefully received. thanks

hello all has anyone come across and been able to resolve the issue where you get a no more fonts error when clicking into a cell in excel (I have no charts or graphs just lots of text) Thanks in advance as always.

The laptop claims it already is tpm 2.0 compliant, however I applied the hotfix with no joy ..

the laptop is a hp g5 the tpm is version 2 the error picture attached.. Just to clarify steps 1. the machine was imaged using legacy boot 2. we decided we need to bitlocker 3. we turn on secure boot in bios 4. windows does not boot 5. we turn off secure boot and enable legacy and windows boots I know that if I turn on secure boot and reimage and then revert to legacy it will all be fine and boot but I want to know if I get around the whole reimage step

Hi all i want to bitlocker a laptop with windows 7 enterprise on it, the bios tells me that it is tpm enabled and visible however i get an error when i try to turn on bit locker, i am worried that if clear the tpm it will require me to reinstall (its happened to me before that after i installed windows and then enabled tpm windows would not boot), is there a way around this?
