setup your own proxy? then you can ban what ever you see not fit for the kids

may be worth restarting all the switches areound the school, also if you have installed any recently make sure you havent given a switch the same ip address as another. did that once and it cause all sorts of problems, only found the problem while changing the ip scope

have you checked your switches, duplicate ip addresses etc?

admin account has black back ground, teachers backgroud is gray, and the kids is purple. makes it nice and easy at a glance to see if billy no mates is logged on as pupil or staff or worse administrator :-)

you say it works fine as admin which suggests to me its a permissions problem in the registry maybe. have you tried running filemon and regmon under student account, to see what access denied errors flash up when you try to run the Alan software?

ChrisH are you refering to the 3com APs? if so what is the exploit and how. Yes firmware is upto date and monitored :-) -

I have setup 3 areas for our laptop trolley which holds 30 laptops. each area has 3 3com APs. each AP allows only a maximum of 10 laptops. works really well. -

I use public transport to make my way to work. sometimes im 10 minutes late but my boss is ok with it. I dont really take a break during the day, so that makes up for it.
