  1. Hello guys, Now I am going to be replacing our currently dying IT suite printer which is a Dell 3110cn possibly to a Dell 3130cn or to a Ricoh SP C430DN in the near future. My question is would I be able to take out the RAM from our current printer and to install it in the which ever printer we are to purchase? Do printers have ram slots like PCs and Laptops? for RAM upgrades? And do all manufacturers printers all use one specific type of RAM? I will find out the answer when i'm in work but just too un-patient
  2. Thanks guys, I will leave it as it is. Will eventually replace that project as that one is old, or perhaps get it cleaned sometime by Sanyo.
  3. thansk for the reply. Yes the units are out of warranty, when you say optics do you mean the lens on the projector? can you point me a link or place on showing how to clean it and or opening up the optics? thanks
  4. Guys, I've installed one of the lamps for a classroon projector, there is significant difference but then again not bright enough, the image. It doesn't look alive and very colourful, if you know what I mean? any suggestions? Is it to do with the lens/focus (interal cleaning or something)? help please:confused:
  5. Guys, read my post carefully, i didnt say i was going to move the mount  its not my job role to move the projector mounts, I only clean them and replace lamps..
  6. Our ceilings are low and easy to reach, that's not a problem. We purchased bulbs instead (4 in total), I wouldn't move the pole anyway as it's not my job to do so and not allowed anyway, its bolted tightly on the ceiling and requires labour work to re-mount it somewhere else and installation cost per room will be very expensive. That's a hassle and we don;t need re-mounting, but I'll be putting a picture up of the bracket for you guys to identify whether its universal or not.
  7. thanks for the information guys, very helpful;) However I don't think the school will be willing to purchase new projectors as they are allocating budgets for other stuffs:( plus new projector means adjustment to the pole or even moving it around! will check if the brackets are universal though because I'm not sure.. Might go with a new bulb then for another couple of year life. I'll put it this way, the image quality is good when you unfold the blinds in the classroom thus making the room dark;). when you let sun or light go through the quality of the image in some classes is very dim, so they need to stay in darkness guys, also our poles are quite distanced from the whitebaords, I would say the length between the whiteboard and projector is about 3.5 or 3 metres in every class, will measure though. Is this normal? because the previous guy told me, "try finding a way to bring the projectors closer to the whiteboards, this will improve the quality", his saying. Do you lot agree with this saying? I can't bring them forward because they are on the pole!
  8. Is the casio projector suitable for educational purpose? i.e. school? and what's the model no? thanks
  9. not really, there is a projector in the ICT room and its a bit distanced from the whiteboard and the quality/brightness is great!. Its not dim in anyway. thanks anyway
  10. Hi guys, Can anyone give me advice? should we purhcase lamps for these projectors or is it better off buying a new projectors. currently the lamp for this projector in about £175 inc vat! and we need 3 lamps! Am i better off recommending a new projector for the school? or stick with the old one. These were bought couple of years back, i think 2009 or before. Help please

  12. Has anyone cleaned Sanyo PLC-XE30? Can anyone help Please...
  13. Which printer do you have? The 3110cn prints upto 8000 pages if you were to purchase a high-capacity toner than a standard one which is 3000 I think.
  14. I will have to speak with the school in new years for a decision. Thanks
  15. I need a printer which is very similar in specification as to the current printer. Or might get the complete maintenance kit which includes rollers/fuser/belt unit. The parts are there when the other bits die or break...
  16. the refurbished one has new parts or used parts?
  17. well a new one is about 700 mate
  18. Hello everyone. I need a bit of advice. Now we have a Dell 3110cn laserjet printer which has a transfer belt unit close to life, meaning its going to die soon. What would be the best option for the school? i.e. to get a replacement for the belt unit which is about £300 inc vat!, or to purchase the complete pack which includes belt unit, rolllers, & fuser kit to prevent false economy for about £400 inc vat!, or just forget it and buy a new printer! Please help Thanks
  19. Hello ToyHeartsFan and thank you for your help. I tried something like that on what you mentioned, in the past. I will try again to see if it makes a difference.
  20. If i was you, I would get an Network+ first for the fundamentals of Networking and then go on and do a CCNA. You will need to do lots of reading on networks + practical aswel. Using simulation softwares will be a good start.
  21. Thanks for that mate, will get in touch with promethean then..
  22. No, Its not illegal, i'm the technician of the school!
  23. I don't have access to SIMS, but i have access to the PCs which have SIMS software installed on them as a (normal user), this is because these PCs are connected to the councils domain, however i can get hold of password for the SIMS
  24. I had a problem with my promethean amp. Whenever you open the volume via the knob, the sound cuts and comes frequently although when on very low volume it stops the sound cuts.
  25. I have this problem aswel, usually the problem is the teachers sometime do not calibrate it properly! i.e. use the board pen and put a dot-spot-on the crosses that appear on the whitebaord's screen and this should give almost perfect alignment.
