Installed two new Dell rack servers at the beginning of the summer break, both of matching specification each running x4 1TB SATA disks. Second day of the install resulted in one of the disks failing, which I shrugged off and got Dell to replace. Tootled into the site this morning, merely six weeks later, to find a different disk in the same rack displayiing a solid Amber light, thankfully managed to reset and it has seemingly rebuilt and now back online. To make matters worse the other server (it's twin) was also showing a disk issue, this was slightly more severe and concerningly mirrored the problem experienced with the other server on the second day of the install. Again Dell are replacing that disk, as well another disk in the same following vetting the log file then suggesting potentionallly another disk may also be displaying signs of failure... Pffffffft!!! Never experienced so many disk failures with new servers... Confidence not running high!

Typical Microsoft, one step forward equates to two steps back. Has anyone else tested Windows 10 Edge with Office 365 OneDrive? I'm possibly missing some here, so please correct me if I'm barking up the wrong tree... Seemingly the 'drag and drop' facility isn't available, also the method of using File Explorer to copy files is also greyed out.

Seemingly getting a black screen with only a mouse cursor following adding a Broadcom NIC drive to the capture image. The black screen occurs following selecting the capture image selection and following the Windows splash screen. Has anyone seen this or fixed it?

I think you're right, which frankly is a poor show it can't be disabled. The users have all signed an AUP policy document stipulating not to forward, however sheer ignorance can often play a part... Hence it should be controlled by ECP. Unless of course it takes a while for the setting to propagate.

I've been tasked to look into cloud based widget software, as an alternative to the existing Boardmaker V6 software used in the school. Currently weighing up the differences between SymWriter Online and Boardmaker Online. Has anyone recommend a cloud based widget offering?

Can anyone recommend a decent(ish) mobile air con unit for a very small server room?

I experienced an odd issue at a single domain controller site this morning. The DC (2012 R2) was showing as online, users could process logon credentials, however all clients processed the logon without presenting a failed logon attempt to end users. The network was recovered within minutes following a reboot of the DC. Event logs indicate that an error occurred during a write procedure to one of the DAS backup disks, circa 7pm the previous evening, however the backup routine completed without error. Also I find it hard to believe an external disk IO error would cause this fault. I wish now I had prolonged the restart of the server and perhaps focused upon a switch issue... However I would have thought a switch issue would have continued follow the server reboot. Thoughts?
