  2. Hi Guys I have an issue with ipad 2 not reconnected to 2 of my schools the wireless networks automatically, normally when the iPads were attached to one access point, then gone to sleep and moved so be connecting to a different access point when it wakes up 9 times out of 10, the Wi-Fi said it’s connected but it won’t work, by switching the iPad into airplane mode for a few seconds and then off again fixes it. IPhones and mini ipad have no problem whatsoever it’s just the iPad 2. I can move around the school streaming iplayer videos on both the iPads2 and ipad mini. So I’m sure that it’s not the wireless setup but as soon as you put them to sleep walk to a different part of the school and try to wake them the iPad mini no problem connects and start streaming again the iPad 2 you have to switch off the wifi to get it reconnected. The wireless setup in both schools is managed H3C WX2024 controller with WA2612 access points setup with a single BSSD name with access controlled with a shared key (WPA2). In one school they don’t move the iPads2 around much so it’s not really a problem each class has 6, but in the other school they have a trolley of 32 ipads 2 which they move around the school constantly. All the other schools I support have different managed wifi systems as they were put in later and all have iPad mini, it’s taken me a bit of time to figure out it’s just the iPad 2 that have the problem. Looking on the web it possibility appears to be that the iPad 1 and 2 and iphone 4 don’t roam correctly between access points when they go to sleep https://discussions.apple.com/message/15276143#15276143 The was another one which can’t find at the moment which basically said refresh the IP address or switch the iPad into airplane mode and off again. I was just wondering if anyone else on here who has iPad 2 has a similar issue. Thanks
  3. Hi Guys I have a problem and hope someone on here could point me in the right direction. One of the schools I support is going away from the LEA for payments systems so with the school will be creating the 'BACS multiple length fixed file' from FMS. Only problem is no one at the school knows where in FMS you create the file, their Sim support is from the LEA who have washed their hand off it since they aren't using the LEA for payment. Hence I have been asked to look! I'm calling in tomorrow after school so I would be extremely grateful if someone could point me in the right general direction as I don't want to spend all night look for it in FMS as it not a program I have used much. Thanks Defrost
  4. I have a problem with bootcamp on a new Lion iMac, installed Windows 7 64bit not problem but when I run sysprep or mysysprep it reboots and starts to setup the pc but then comes up with a error “Setup can not continue setup will restart after a reboot” the computer then reboots and other again. The answer file, I have been using for both mysysprep & sysprep works on a normal PC and I have even tried just run sysprep with no answer file and it still produces the same results. Has anyone got any suggestions. Thanks
  5. Hi We have just got some Mac laptops for the teacher's here is there script or program which would let them switch off and on the proxy setting from the desktop i have shown them how to do it from the wireless setting but it too difficult for them to do!!! Guest it’s my own fault for putting a script on their windows laptops to do it for them. Thanks
  6. @MacGeek - Thanks, for the command line options, if we had a CD with the manual on it will be much easier. But since local authority just put the files on the server we don't get to see any of the useful stuff. If you have chance tomorrow, could you just check what the command line options are and post them on here please  @matt - To be honest the local authority isn't the brightest, I had to explain to the guy who came out that you could do a silent installation for sims.net as he expected me to go around each curr machine and run the installer, and was surprised that you were able to do that!!
  7. I agree but the schools have all been told by the lea that the staff will benefit from using it and hence it need to go on the machines which the teacher’s use. If you look at the spec you can tell it’s meant for just a few machines but troubles is I have to do what they want, hence looking at the easiest way of doing it
  8. SOLUS isn't install on the server. I can't install it as it's the LEA who has the support contract for sims, and they just say install on each Curr pc, but with 4 schools with around 200 client that need it on thats thats a lot of time
  9. Is there any way of doing a silent install of the Discovery client to workstations Thanks
