Over the weekend the Admin Server (virtual) in one of our schools lost power for some reason but it was switched back on OK. However, they have lost the category colours on Outlook that they originally had. All the events are still there but only in green or pink instead of a host of different colours that they use. Any ideas how to restore please? Thanks

Hope someone can help? I'm not an SQL (or SIMS) expert in any way, only a basic understanding but I've got a SIMS/FMS problem at a school and the SQL 'Expert' is off sick. We have tried CAPITA but I believe they said it's an SQL problem and so not part of their support. When a User tries to log on to SIMs or FMS they get a timeout query and they can't log in. once the time is increased they can then log in. However, once they're in, for no apparent reason they get logged out and then can't log back in again. If we restart the server and restart the services, everything is fine again for about an hour and then the same things happen again. Hope that makes sense? Any pointers anyone can give are gratefully accepted. Thanks

We have a shared 'School' calendar which has been in existence for years, but nobody knows who the owner is. Is there any way of finding out? Thanks

Currently working in a couple of schools where, depending on the laptop/pc the child or staff member logs onto depends on whether or not things such as the Wallpaper, proxy settings or shared drives are available. I can log the same student on to 2 different laptops with differing results, such as shared drive visible on one but not on the other. There appears to be no pattern to this happening that I can see. Any ideas please?

Hi there, Has anyone any experience of IT Support through Exceedia? Was it good? bad? or OK? I've only heard a few bad things so far but not sure if it's isolated to just the odd school or a more general issue, and would be interested in hearing more before making any decisions. Hi there woreilly, Did you ever solve this? I have a similar issue in that even though you allocate tasks for pupils these are not seen within the Teachers page. And when the pupils take the tests it does not go onto the next test once completed, just goes back to the test they've already done. Support have been unhelpful, even suggesting that the software we have purchased is non-network, even though all the printed literature with the software clearly says it is!! Any help would be appreciated.

Right click volume button in lower right hand taskbar and select recording devices. Right Click within the devices window and click on show disabled and disconnected devices. Enable Stereo Mix. Open audacity, click the box next to the microphone and pick Stereo Mix. Now try recording.

Does anybody know how to get the RM Ecoquiet's to Power up form the LAN? I used to be able to do this with Lanview in XP but since we've changed to Windows 7 and started using AB Tutor Control I cannot get them to power up. There are other desktops on the system and they power up fine. Have tried various configurations of the BIOS and the Network Card but to no avail. They will shutdown using AB Tutor but will not boot up, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

In a previous life I used to be a Quality, Hygiene and Health & Safety Officer in a large manufacturing company. Although it was customary for us to be given notice of an impending inspection there was also a higher standard that you could sign up to which would require unannounced inspections for which, if you passed you received a higher award e.g. Gold Award which was then displayed for all to see. This was done in an effort to reward those companies that have put in the resources and procedures, rather than those that just get employees to fill out six month of forms etc with different coloured pens and have a week of manic cleaning up etc. Not sure if that would work in this instance but it was a good idea.

Hi everyone, Hoping somebody can help with this. Dell Optiplex 755 - Keyboard and Mouse do not work - Usb Devices, no PS2 connections. They appear to work whilst the boot up process is happening, lights flash etc and also work when operating within setup (bios) but once Windows has booted into the Ctrl-Alt-Del entry screen they no longer work, no lights etc. Anyone know why please? Hi there, First post so be gentle with me I'm having a problem with some of the PCs in the IT suite refusing to print pictures that the children have created. Keep getting the error "ask invalid property value (380)". Not happening on all PCs but enough for it to be annoying to the Teachers/TA's. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Craig
