  1. Help... Right, iv scanned the net for loads of ideas why this might not be picking up the SQL database and its really getting on my tomato source. I have installed now SQL 2008 Standard R2 SP2 CU8 I have domain/SMSAdmin, domain/Administrator, built-in/Administrators Group added to the SQL login access. I have added dbcreator, sysadmin and db_owner to all of these users/groups for the dbs and server roles. All have Grant to connect to the database engine and login is enabled. Named pipes, Shared Memory, TCP/IP are all enabled in the Configuration manager. I am using ports 4022 as standard and the Instance name is leafsqlserver. collation is SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS. Just to let everyone know too, the SQL server is another VMServer and the DC2 with SCM2012 is another VMServer both on the same box. SCCM2007 worked fine with the SQL connection. >.<
  2. no, I make up my own instance... this all worked fine for SCCM2007. I have Server 2008 R2 with SQL 2008 R2 Standard and a secondary DC with Server 2008 R2 with SCCM 2012.
  3. nope... still not working...
  4. Now im lost... I keep getting this message up when trying to connect to the DB. Iv followed everything according to the windows-n00bs how to.
  5. Sorry, I mean for SCCM 2012 does it install it too or do I need to install it? (ill leave it where it is in that case)
  6. What about WSUS? Anything else I should uninstall??
  7. Iv scraped SCCM 2007... now installing 2012
  8. Nope, not done this. I have no idea how to use the software to be honest with you. Im just using common sense and trile and error to use it. I did use SCCM2012 but I could not see where I can deploy any OS images etc... Which part of SCCM2012 do I need for this? We are currently on an RM network but have created a new domain and DC which we hope to move everything across to at some point and wish to use something like SCCM to manage the WSUS and OS deployment of things, users, groups etc.. I removed the two boot images in SCCM and added one back but no go. SMSBoot has the dir layout but only has bootmgfw.efi in the x86 dir. All other dir are empty which might well be my issue here. Or at least one of them. I was told that WDS needs to be installed but not configured prior to SCCM installed which I did. I might try SCCM 2012 again in that case. Myself and @Oaktech have no idea how to use this stuff... need babe steps and a holding hand.... lol Might take a look.. thanks
  9. Also just adding, I have in DHCP; 066 Boot Server Host Name = (my ip address) 067 Bootfile Name = SMSBoot\x86\wdsnbp.com I do not have 060 added and when I change 067 Bootfile Name from "Boot\x86\boot.com" to "SMSBoot\x86\wdsnbp.com" it then says PXE-T04: Access violation PXE-E36: Error received from TFTP Server. I have compared both folders and they are the same... double stumped.
  10. I have tried to trouble shoot this for about a month now, and its really getting annoying. Other than SCCM2007 is the most poorly created software I have ever come across, I have more less got most things working other than getting the WDS/Operating System Deployment system working. My problem is that after I have booted PXE (As in I can press F12 and download the boot file) It then comes up saying that "The windows boot configuration data file does not contain a valid OS entry." "Status code:0xc0000098" "File:\Boot\BCD" Now, I can understand why this would be saying this, because WDS has no OS entry added but SCCM does have one added. I was under the impression that SCCM took control over WDS and there for no WDS configuration would need to be changed. I have reinstalled WDS, I have also reinstalled SCCM2007 on a clean base two times and still I am unable to get this working. I was told you add everything in first like WSUS, WDS, updates etc.. before you install SCCM. @Oaktech Has no idea either... probably because he is busy eating chocolates right now.
  11. @Oaktech (Thank Post 460) I wish I got these above my head Might grab a few when your back in tomorrow when your not looking he he he ....
  12. Good excuse to install out new 2010 box I say Taking ages for our users to transferee across ... zz,z,,z,,,.z.z.z.z.z
  13. Just for reference, the standard sender connector which is automatically added upon a fresh install does not work. You need to delete it and make a new one.
  14. oooooo...... BABE!!!!! Its been 6 years since I have seen one of those. We had one of these in final design phase when I was working back at Eurosoft. You think that is allot of ram, you should take a look at some of the other peace's of kit they do
  15. The problem is that our VM server is full and all the other servers cant have it on. Just a correction to the first post, we actually have 2 current running eportals and we need a third. I dont understand why we cant have all 3 running off the CMIS server tbh. Do you want to give me a phone call and tell me how you did this? ill pm you my numbers. Each eportal is to 3 diffrent installations of CMIS on the CMIS server with 3 diffrent databases.
  16. Frog sounds rip off... We use moodle, vitalized on a VMwear server.
  17. We are in need of installing a 4th instance of eportal and as we have run out of servers to install it on I was wondering if its possible to install more than one instance per server? I know IIS6/7/7.5 and Apache well enough. I wish eportal was not an exe you kicked off. I like doing things manually some times, especially when it comes to web apps. Anyone done this before?
  18. Still extremely lagging (if not timing out) trying to contact work area on the main DC from the Webserver.
  19. Sorry am I being really stupid here or is this correct? Im getting "not found" errors when I log into hap now
  20. When I installed V9 or V9.2 on our web server (WinServer2008 R2 IIS7.5), it access the home drives which are on our DC but it just takes forever and a day. We are just get a rotating arrow for absolutely ages and that's about it. Any ideas on how to resolve this with out installing HAP on our 2003 IIS6 server?
  21. Hi Guys, What I am trying to do is basically clone a hard disk with all of its data and partitions successfully even if there are bad sectors. (This usually stops software I have used in the past) I am going to run this over PXE boot in WinPE 3.0 (Windows7). I was looking at Norton Ghost but I cant seem to find any downloads for old versions. Could anyone please point me to some useful Hard disk Software or even Free Norton Ghost please.
  22. I have signed up with vidahost.
  23. Hia, Im with 123reg at the moment but by the 6th I need to ether pay up another £70 or find another host. 123reg is some what slow for my CMS for my likening too. I need at least two databases. Able to install Joomla. 1 or 2 emails. 1GB or 2GB of data maybe..
  24. We have just recently taken over the control of a local Primary schools network (Elmrise Primary School.) We have migrated their old network to a Windows 2008 R2 / Windows 7 environment and are trying to add most of their original software back. My problem is that the Developing Numeracy: Maths Skills and Practice CD-ROM 1 to 5 does not really like being run in Windows7 were as it prefers Windows XP. I can run it fine in compatibility mode but when you make an MSI so to deploy it via GPO it will not take the compatibility mode with it. Developing Numeracy: Maths Skills and Practice CD-ROM 1-5 was last produced in 2006. As such it is no longer being supported. I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a way to make compatibility mode work with an MSI/WinINSTALL LE or if they knew a few wrapper tool that could handle the swf files correctly which also works with Windows 7.
  25. Anyone got anything useful for us? My head hurts...
