Does anybody know of any use of the above in a primary school classroom environment? I've seen articles about there use in Africa to help children learn English but nothing UK based.

How old is the board??? Is it mounted over a heat source, ie radiator or pipes?? Heat can affect the gel pack in the board.

The wonderful unifi system.......assume its dead. I've been out to schools who have had these replaced at less than two year old. You can keep the board and just get a new projector. UST or ceiling mounted.....its up to you

Sounds like an internal problem. If its over 4 year old it will be cheaper to buy a new unit rather than repair the one you have. -

We use projector point. Not sure if you need to open an account with them. Projectors from ProjectorPoint - LCD and DLP Projectors to Buy or Hire Who do you use now?? -
As a company we recommend a twice yearly service/clean of projectors. This involves filters cleaned and the lamp housing cleaned out as well. We have seen quite a few old units of various makes last upto 6 years before giving up the ghost.

Hi all just wondering if anyone has seen a problem with the above. We have a couple of the above units that refuse to power up from remote or direct from the unit. There are no warning lights on show. If you unplug the unit for about 30 seconds and then plug back in and power the unit up it works fine. This has happened twice with one particular unit in the last week.

Sony VPL-FH30 for Assembly Hall?

The company i work for have tended to use sanyo XM100L's as a long throw option. They come with various lenses depending on the throw distance. Roughly about £1300 without the lens. Another solution could be a ceiling mounted unit on a pitched mount. My boss will be happy to give free advice if you like, [email protected]. -

Its what we call screen burn. Cost of repair is expensive when compared to a replacement unit. Im afraid it will be a new unit as the problem will only get worse. -
LED Projectors suggestions?

The company I work for have installed a load of Casio's at various schools. They are the best thing out there at the moment. We have never had any mention of any overheating issues. -
As a rule of thumb for the company I work for we use 6FT as the minimum for ceiling mounted projectors to the floor. We always aim to mount the projector high as possible.

Anyone else had problems with the range of the remote?? Found a solution if so. Hard-wire the remote with a standard 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio lead from the audio input on the back of the projector direct to your remote. One small problem with this is it negates the use of the remote as a true remote over IR.

With this problem it has to go back to Sanyo for repair or be replaced. Seen similar problems with xe-40's in schools i visit -
As a company we use sahara or saphire. Very good quality and decent prices.
