Due to continued year-on-year growth, an opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified, highly motivated and experienced ICT Technician to join our Capita Accredited, hardworking and highly regarded support team. School ICT Services Ltd is one of the largest, independent providers of SIMS support in the country. We currently offer support and consultancy services to around 400 Local Authority, Academy and Free Schools, predominantly in the north of England but increasingly on a national basis. It is our aim to help schools achieve maximum benefit from their investment in ICT and the post-holder must be pro-active in developing and improving the use of this in schools as well as day to day maintenance. The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills and be able to deliver high quality support to our customers via our service desk as well as delivering regular visits to designated schools where we provide onsite technical services. There is an expectation that applicants will be required to drive to customer sites. The ideal candidate should have a sound knowledge of supporting education ICT infrastructures and computer systems, including servers, workstations, interactive screens / AV equipment and Apple/Android devices. You should also have experience and understanding of group policies, software deployment, backup/restoration procedures and firewall/filtering technologies. We currently offer support and consultancy services to around 400 Local Authority, Academy and Free Schools, predominantly in the north of England but increasingly on a national basis. It is our aim to help schools get maximum use from their SIMS system and candidates must be pro-active in developing the use of this software in schools. The successful applicant will be given specific responsibilities for the delivery of training and consultancy in the Midlands, Wiltshire and Essex as demand dictates. You should also have experience and understanding of at least 4 of the following areas: Managing pupil data in SIMS .net, Personnel 7, SIMS end of year procedures, External Returns (Census and SWC), Attendance, Behaviour Management, FMS, Assessment Manager, Profiles, Options and Reporting. The most likely reason will be if the data in the spreadsheet mismatches the gradeset set up in SIMS, even if there is a slight difference the data won't come through, one way to double check this would be to export the marksheet to excel and copy the data across and import the marksheet, it should tell you on the activity log if there are any issues. The only other thing I can think of is if the resultsets on the marksheet don't match the settings on the import.

  6. Do you have the data in spreadsheets? or is it a transfer file?
  7. Just wanted to see if anyone else has come across an issue where the first report prints ok and then every other student prints only every other page on double sided reports.
