We have blocked USBs many years ago and no viruses. We do have remote access for all, e-mail and OneDrive. We also use Surface 2s for taking photos that are then synced to OneDrive were they can be manipulated and shared. Works for us

So what you are saying is governors do not deal with information that ICO would see as being part of the DPA?

All Governor’s use whatever they like (I wonder if it’s a shared family one ). The only way I can think of is to give them a laptop with encrypted drive and no access to USB etc. Plus a school e-mail account with only SSL access.

Ok what about skydrive encrypted up and down but again device lets it down because if device stolen etc access to mail means access to skydrive account. Nominated person should be SLT position and have training but again real world - Do you even have a nominated DP person?

That still leaves info on an un encrypted workstation. We are duty bound by the data protection act this would come straight back at you, wouldn’t it?

What do you do/think? Governors communicate with school usually by e-mail, this would be done in most cases over an un-encrypted mail service from an insecure private workstation. They are discussing some of the most delicate matters about school! I am tempted to say they should have a school supplied laptop and mail service.

Not much help but I would not give up we have 4X dude running on 4 old XP laptops that monitor everything. Tempting fate here but we have had no tR+*^% at all. I would give it another go.

I would suggest using an account made by yourself and remember facebook minimum age 13

Do you have your own budget but have to order through admin ?

We have a CTouch 65 on a partition wall mounted years ago never had a helpdesk ticket for it. That I cannot say for any other AV device. If we keep Promethean boards in store can we use software?

We use a size of screen suitable for the size of teaching room these screens are far superior in clarity and a 65inch can be fully fitted for £2,500. Initial cost is higher but then think man hours and down time ? Try your real world costings over 3Yrs.

You can run whatever software you like on the screen. We gone down this road and believe me its a delight to forget where they are.

I believe that projectors have limited life now. Look at the CleverTouch range of screens they do not suffer from filters needing changing, bulbs that pop, teachers complaining the light is hurting them. Different pens for different years of manufacture I could go on. Over a 3Yr TCO projectors are not the answer?

We do not use rolling filters but we switched to Clever Touch Duals (Large interactive TV with 4mm glass) and have never looked back.

Youtube changed these but it stands that in the UK you cannot enter into a binding contract until you are over 18. Thats UK law.
