Going on experience with RM connect etc, I can say that their products at least from when I was using them (prior to 2012) were very poor. They just about worked. And RM would charge large amounts to do simple jobs. I was glad when all our schools moved away from them, half the problems with their systems vanished at the same time RM did. I can not speak for their new products as I hear they have improved. But I doubt their attitude of charging ridiculous amounts has. They did employ some good people, but those at the top did not do things well in my opinion.

We cant have fruit at my place, it would be just left to rot if no one ate it. Some of these desks are quite clean, but I could not stand having a desk opposite someone. I prefer to face the door or a wall than a person.

In the case of snooping there are safeguards in place, warrants etc. We work towards a just and fair society, but also a society which is secure. Any person can yield to corruption. That will always be the case. That is why more than one person is involved. Absolute power corrupts absolute so they say. Absolute power is not something that is common place in these sort of things these days.

More the cry of common sense. I am accepting that monitoring will occur. And that if you are not doing anything wrong under UK law you have nothing to fear. The cry of the stupid comes when something happens and those against snooping complain that nothing was done to stop an incident.

If people want complete privacy, throw your laptop and phone into the river, delete as many online accounts as you can, and then go and live in the Scottish Highlands under a new name. I feel lucky that I was able to grow up to the age of 18 without iPhones and tablets existing. So I knew what it was like before any of it. Sure people still looked down at their phones to text and email, but not to the same extent as they do now. Its the generations (generation Z) that have been born since mobiles/computers were the average thing, ie everyone has one that I worry about. When I was a kid PC's were crap with 56k internet, and you had to be lucky to have your own for me at least. I know its not that long ago, but it has changed so much since then. They have never know a world without them. God knows how they will live without them.

Personally I think entering IT was a mistake. I love fixing computers which is why I went into it. But as you move onto more complex stuff it's all figures and numbers and software. Bores me to death. So i think its not for me.I don't like how tech is taking over life and really shun it outside of work. These days tech is too integrated into life. If a portal appeared leading back to 1959 I would step straight into it. People say times were harder then but there were far more options for hands on skilled work, and life was more simple so I'm told. I just fear in 20 years time we will all be drones living in virtual worlds never leaving the house. Maybe I will join the Amish lol

Hardware has sort of reached a point where it cannot go much faster in terms of everyday use word and web etc. whereas before you we're replacing equipment every with something far better, now it's not really worth it as stuff is useable for much longer. People are also more savy and don't ask for as much help. Even in the 6 years I have been in IT it has changed with tabs etc. tabs are boring in terms of repair, and now everything is beginning to look the same. In another five years I doubt any computers will be as easy to repair as they are now.

Wars start out with a small confined conflict and slowly escalate to full scale total war. One day we are going to blow ourselves to kingdom come. But I don't think that time has come yet. Putin acts hard, but he is no fool and not a madman. Remember that who ever pushes the button can expect the same from the other side. So it's pointless, even taking into account pre emptive and all that crap. Maybe in 30 or so years when humans demand too much from the earth and panic sets in. At least once we are gone earth will repair its self after a few thousand years and new life will begin. Humans never learn until its too late. Hopefully who ever replaces us will do things better.

I have worked in IT for over six years now, but since late last year I just find it worthless. I have tried changing jobs into a different sector but its still the same. It just bores me to death. Don't know why, one day it just happened. I am now rude to people, have no patience for solving issues, and dread each day. Any creativity and passion I had in the past, is just gone. Also noticed I just have a devil may care attitude. Its all a bit weird, If I was older I would think its a mid life crisis but I am only in my mid 20's. This ever happened to anyone else?

I do not see an alternative for the government to follow. There is no other sufficient way they would be able to keep track of these people planning attacks against us without seeing who they are in contact with. There are millions of people connecting to the mobile phone and internet services in the UK. Most of the data will sit on the database for twelve months or so and then be deleted. If they want to look at who you are talking to they need a warrant and good reason. I am quite sure if an attack were to occur, the majority of people who are against limited snooping would be the first to ask why the attackers were not being monitored. Anyone who does not wish to be monitored does not use the system, if they are really that concerned. I don't care very much for Europe and hope we are out of it soon. But that is another matter.........

I think this is true for most visitors, when you live here its all a bit boring as you have been next to it all your life.
