  1. What version Exchange, What version Outlook?
  2. Hmmm, so what actually isn't working then? I have found the analyzer to not work in all scenarios.
  3. 600 internal is what you should get. so thats fine. Do you have an actual "autodiscover" A record pointing back to the server in DNS proper and internally? I find using the tools in Outlook are a good way to see what is or isnt happening, as it has a better readable log. Press CTRL down and right click the Outlook icon in the task bar and select Test Email Autoconfiguration, it will then test all possible autodiscover scenarios and hopefully tell you the problem.
  4. can you get to the autodiscover service from external? ie https://mail.myschool.ac.uk/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml should spit out some xml
  5. I assume if you run Exchange 2016 and maybe 2013, it is exactly the same technology as Office 365, but with more access, governance and control... just my 2p We run in Hybrid with staff on-prem and students in the cloud, EOP doing all the anti-spam. Works really well for us. James
  6. One of my offsite users got hit, was in a hurry, opened an email that purported to be from a student, double clicked the ZIP and....Everything encrypted. She had drives mapped and was on VPN but thankfully it only did her hard drive. Unit back to base to be wiped. I now block ALL zips in Exchange, with rules to send sorry emails to recipient and sender to let them know there are modern ways to send files and email is not one of them!
  7. Hi Glen, you are getting a 500 InternalServerError which is normally generic for cant find anything to show you. Are you sure you have tracked settings/mapping/NAT from your exchange server through the firewall and out to make sure that the external address can get back to the server? I assume you have changed mail.myschool.co.uk from your proper one in the error, if not there is a space in it!! Thanks James
  8. I would suggest Xibo too, I ran it successfully for years until we purchased Planet eStream. Installs as a server, gives a webpage for config and content, then install the client on the PC.
  9. Morning all, We are planning to roll out a personal webcam and headset to all staff desks, where would be a good place to buy in bulk(probably only 50-75 of each?)? We will get quotes from the usual suspects nearer to the time, but thought I'd ask if anyone had any insight into any deals, steals and other sales of the century! Thanks James
  10. Hi all, We have the above licence available in O365 that we had assigned for mainly EOP. Do we actually have to assign the licences to users, or just have them? i am reviewing my scripts that auto assign the licences and just wondered if I need to add this licence as well as O365 plus for faculty? Thanks James
  11. Raspberry Pi uniFi controller of course here I have the things breeding in my house
  12. I did 7.1 from my main stack, Sony AV amp to wall plates around the living room and a quad run of CAT6 and twin run of COAX to behind the corner mounted 48" TV. 2 feeds from sat dish and 1 feed from tv aerial come into the stack, then I can send what I need to the ports at the TV end, be it standard aerial for Freeview or dish feeds for FreeSat, depending on the TV that is hung up there. IT, bringing our work home for 30 years
  13. I ran CAT6 to each room when I renovated, then I can use baluns or extenders to send whatever I want from the central point. I ran at least a pair to each room, once for net, one for extender or both for extender, etc, etc. 3 Unifi flying saucers take care of the Wi-Fi for everything else. [sMUG Alert]I also ran ceiling speakers to my bathroom, kitchen and bedroom, and they run back to an array of pi's and amps and on to Logitech media server on my thin client based server in the garage(this also auto downloads torrents for my favourite legitimate content over night) I also have some Fibaro Z-Wave dimmers and switches conencted to another Pi and a touch screen in the kitchen(one touchscreen to rule them all).[/sMUG Alert]
  14. Afternoon all, Anyone know if education licenses for O365 are going to get access to the MS Bridge functionality? or if SIP functionality is ever coming to the cloud version? I would love to decommission my onsite SfB servers and go full cloud Thanks James
  15. Ask 10 licensing bods a question and you will get 11 different answers an old microsoftism Having just done some quick google-fu, I think I am wrong and it is the wording in the official docs that refer to VM rather then VOSE. Which also means those thinking about VDI can host ALL their LICENCED Windows 7/8/10 DESKTOP instances on Standard or even the free Hyper-V server
  16. To be honest, it was ages ago and was when we were licensing the old Enterprise version of 2008R2, I *think* it was RM. We were basically told an "OSE" was any code that ran as an OS, not just WinServer. As I edited, I am fully expecting to be shot down as the advice is old and Vrights may have changed considerably.
  17. AFAIK you have to count Linux in the count too, not just MS OS's. We looked into this years ago, and thought std licence and loads of CENTOS VM's, woo and hoo... but we were advised they were counted as an OS, didn't matter if it was MS or whatever I should add, please feel free to shoot me down on this, as it was back in the 2008R2 days, and things may have changed
  18. Me too Will involve querying the ODB port, but as the Disco of that age is non-OBDII compliant, so will be a bit more involved interfacing with the 14CUX in it, but thankfully there are libraries available already Mg's should be ODBII compliant, at least on the TF, the F might need some work on the MEMS. I will do a write-up if I ever get round to doing it. I rebuilt the engine in the Disco end of last year and it still lays outside my house waiting for me to hook up the fuel system!!
  19. Afternoon all, 3 things to strike fear into any proof of concept! Basically we are looking at replacement bills for our asus netbook stock hitting multiple 10's of thousands. We have been looking at the Dell/Wyse VWorkspace product to use for our staff as an alternative to upgrading all the staff computers, as it will suit how we work, as in we have staff at home, staff that are mobile, etc, etc. And then someone thought why not used it for all!! So... does anyone use a shared virtual desktop solution with wifi(currently we have N) and less than stellar spec end user equipment? We had the idea of cheap and cheerful android tablets and attached keyboards, connecting to shared desktops Woo hoo Thursday Pipe Dream, I assume! Thanks James
  20. I have 3. All will be integrated into vehicles(1 for each MG(F and TF) and 1 for the V8 Disco) to be trip computers, I have got as far as attaching one to an RGB LCD kit, but just got to find the time to get the rest done...
  21. Now thats gone, a fail2ban server that bans for a year, plus OSSEC keeping an eye, and sending pertinent logs to Pushover on my phone, we are looking secure again See a Level 7 or 10 and I panic, then find its the web guy changing files!!
  22. The ways round are to harden the site first, we think the 404 was put in before we hardened using WordFence and Sucuri
  23. Afternoon all, We currently run an NSA 3600 Dell SonicWall router. We are currently at software level "SonicOS Enhanced 6.2.2.2-19n" which is a firmware from Jun 18, 2015. I want to upgrade, but anything newer is either a step back to 6.1 or in Beta. Does anyone else use these, and do you jump to beta? Or do you stay until the beta becomes mainstream(which is not very fast...) Thanks James
  24. Morning, Turns out they had turned our 404 file into a simple file uploader!! Of all the things not to check! Thanks for all the help James
