I would be very careful with this. since you are not a qualified teacher, or backed up by a union you're not insured to look after children. if anything happens with a teacher around, their insurance will cover anything but you will not have that support. Personally (although i'd love to do it) id refuse point blank... just after asking them for the £30k pay that teachers get

We've found that multiple logons has caused massive profile sizes, or leaving themselves logged on over the 6 weeks holidays :@ we've restricted them to 1 logon (that was fun) and thats seemed to cool the situation down. Multiple logons was also causing a print spooler crash which froze all office applications and explorer.exe so they lost all unsaved work (so all work) and generally made life difficult. hope this helps.

Ive been through this myself. theres a file that needs to be deleted, Wheres a reply to an email i recieved from avid whilst i was in the process: Hi Geraint, You should be able to open Avid Licence Control on that machine and click Deactivate next to the Sibelius Licence Server If you are unable to do this you can deactivate manually by following this: Windows * Click Start * Type %programdata% * Navigate to Avid > Licences * Delete the Sibelius folder You will have to let me know when you have done this and I will make some changes at this end. You do need to be involved with the techies in avid to do this. just ask to merge 2 sets of licenses

We also have a trolley that is taken when booked, but our projector is ceiling mounted with an electronic drop screen. However, weve been experimenting with a new bit of hardware called USB server, it sends video, sound and usb signal through IP wirelessly, then just connects up to your VGA/HDMI/3.5/USB sockets on the wall. the plan is to have a tablet running this which can sit nicely on the speakers plinth. weve tested it and it works, but the RM tablet we used didnt quite have the power to support it.

We use a high power air compressor that the design technology department has from teaching pneumatics. this means we do take them down to clean, but the very strong air leaves the projector spotless, use this for computers too.

Hey guys. ive just recently had the old ipads thrusted on me and ive found that if you have itunes installed on a pc, just connect the ipad through USB whilst setting up. i also had the activation failure problem and used up aaaalll my data on my phone through tethering but choosing "connect to itunes" with the usb in works.

Glad to see it fixed itself for you, what we did was make a shortcut to the sounds section in control panel to people could change it through that

Hey there, The name pretty much says it all... I am trying to install a Brother MFC8880DN onto an XP SP3 RM system but it comes with a nice confusing variety of drivers. i was wondering if anyone has a similar system and has managed to install this printer successfully? Many thanks. Geraint

on our system users can log on without server connection if they have previously logged on to that computer, and i realise that the system is almost totally useless without the server but say students were typing up work, without the server, theyd still be able to use a word processor and save to a external device. and it generally stops staff from frothing at the mouth if you can suggest a few little things they can still do

Seems like a pretty nifty idea but the only issue i can see is: if the server goes down, will all of the computers running the software be completely useless (as opposed to being almost completely useless as the user cant save to their documents or access the internet ect.) i also saw a post where a bloke was having problems with students disconnecting network cables on startup which stopped user policies from running and thus giving them more freedom to play games and stuff, so even if this software locks the screen, wouldnt the computer still keep running underneath the locked screen, and theyd be able to log in without seeing the logon screen and reconnect it once the computer is fully started and logged in?

Hey all, Im trialing Impero v3, netsupport school and ranger at the moment as an alternative to upgrading to RM's cc4. I'm impressed with Impero's features but im not sure what the quality of their technical support sums up to. do any of you operate Impero and have you ever had to rely on their technical team and were they up to scratch?

Hey there, We use laptop trolleys that contain between 12 and 20 laptops each. we have 5 trolleys, used by certain departments and one general use trolley. We have equipped each trolley with a wireless router. we dont get many problem with teachers not plugging them in, but sometimes they plug them in with plenty of excitement and break the data sockets, the general trolley is moved and plugged in by a technician. I've found that the router is enough to provide a connection to 20 laptops, but any more than that and they start to become intermittent. Another issue we get is that the trolley's power must be on with the trolley connected to the data line for about a minute before any laptops try to connect, otherwise they wont connect unless you restart all of the laptops, which is a nightmare for a teacher with a class full of kids.
