That's terrible news. Were they chipped? Put notices up in vets, keep an eye on Gumtree, ebay and the local classifieds. Phone the local paper, see if you can get them to do an article with a photo of the dogs. They like stories for slow news days and you never know your luck.

Could be do to with the nvidia defect. The Nvidia Defect Forum Certain laptops using the Nvidia graphics chips overheated. HPs were especially prone. I successfully replaced a three-year old laptop for a new one at Staples as it fell under the sale of goods act which covers manufacturing defects for five years. In a nutshell, because nvidia provided chips which were out of the specified heat tolerances for the boards, they created a product with an inherent defect. The above link explains it in detail and how to go about getting a new laptop.

Not so. It's only an offence to interfere with mail in transit. Technically, it's Her Majesty's property until it hits your doormat. Bailiffs can't just turn up; they have to have a court order. Debt collectors are another matter, but they have no powers of entry. I had something similar, I spoke to the debt owners (debts are bought by companies) and heard no more. You don't have to, but it's probably better to speak to the debt chasers rather than just sending the letters back.

I've done a fair bit with the Nagios monitor on Ubuntu server, monitoring a bunch of Linux and Windows servers. It's working as a polling system, with NRPE agents running on the monitored servers, but I failed miserably trying to get SNMP traps to work. I can let you have my /etc directories if that's any good to you.

Has anybody got Nagios to accept SNMP traps? I've got Nagios running quite well (on a 64 bit Ubuntu server), and it polls Linux and Windows servers using NRPE. So far so good. However, I want Nagios to accept SNMP traps from the Windows program 'Trapgen' which we use to flag when things go wrong with our scripts. I've searched high and low, but have been unable to find a coherent, complete document explaining how to do it from start to finish. It's driving me nuts. I've installed and configured snmptt (trap translator), the SNMP daemon is set to not log but to use the trap translator. Has anyone compared XMBC with Boxee? As I understand it, Boxee is built on XMBC, but has more goodies.
