Thank you for all your answers. We are trialling classroombookings. So far the staff and I am very happy with it. It does everything we need it to and was easy to setup.

Hi, I hope you are having a good start to the term! I am looking for recommendations for room/resource booking software. We were using Google Calendar with appointment slots but that's been withdrawn. The replacement doesn't seem to do what we would like. I've looked at the TES one but it seems a lot of money for 2 rooms and 4 resources. Thanks for any help. Sarah

No they are MR26. I was going to replace with the MR42. As that is what we have received as replacements in the past. Thank you for checking that though!
-
Thank you, that's really helpful to know.

Hi, A couple of our Meraki access points have failed and are no longer under warranty. I've seen some unused MR42's on ebay. Is there any reason why we wouldn't be able to use them on our network? Licencing for example? Many thanks

Thank you all for your replies. They are really helpful. Start of term is proving mad as usual, so I will investigate when I can!

Hello, Please could I have some advice. We have 3 SSID's Student, Staff and Guest. I would like to change our Staff SSID to radius but we have some NEST controllers and other things on this SSID. I can't add them to pupil as it's already radius. If I add them to Guest I would have to keep changing the passwords on these devices. So, I am thinking of adding another SSID just for these devices. Would this be a good idea? Am I missing something? Many thanks

I have the same phone and found my usual charger did not work. I had to buy a 30W charger. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B091JR27D6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Annoying extra cost!

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help with this. We have an ip camera setup in our hall. The camera shows the stage so that during school productions cast members can see when they are due to go on. I can view the feed from my pc but not from any other. I've checked permissions etc on other pcs but can not see whyit is not working. Also looked through all the camera settings. It has worked in the past, has anyone had this issue? Many thanks for any help.

In my old Skoda, the backs of the rear seats tipped forward to reveal extra storage. Also a flap you could lift that opened above the starter motor. This was really handy, I kept a hammer there so I could whack the starter motor when needed!

Hello, It's been recommended that we purchase a Meeting Owl, I know, expensive! I've been reading the Amazon reviews which are mostly positive but some not so. Has anyone had any experience of these, it would be great to know the opinion of a fellow techy. Many thanks Sarah

Thank you FN-GM This is for Staff BYOD. We use radius for school owned pupil devices. So yes, that is a good way to go. I don't why I hadn't considered that. Too much sun!

Hi, We have Meraki WI-Fi network. I am reviewing our set up and I would like to ask how other schools manage their staff Wi-Fi connections. We currently use a PSK, is there a better way? Thanks for any help

Outsourcing Contract

Thank you for your reply, yes, I was thinking whether we need to 'ensure the new employer has taken steps to ensure the data is properly protected' -
Outsourcing Contract
sarahstacey replied to sarahstacey's topic in Data Protection & Information Handling
Thank you for your help. Yes, this is under TUPE, so we are covered by that. -
Hi, Just checking my logic here. Our school is outsourcing our cleaning to cleaning company. Our present cleaners will now be employed by them. We have asked permission of the cleaners to share their details with the new company so they can set up there pay etc. Do we need to do anything from a GDPR perspective? The staff will no longer work for us. Thank you for any advice
