While I too was thikning :s when I heared about it on the radio its actually a clever idea, its no different to the normal cremation service and its supplying huge savings for the council, while it costs £39,000 to install this would be paid back in just under 3years. In the long run a great saving at £15,000 per year if the figures are accurate and all goes to plan. The savings would be huge unique ideas like this were implemented across the UK. Do you think the crematorium will see an increase in business too due to people wanting to contribute their death?

I have with me a lapotp used by our admin team, we don't allow it on the network as its used outside of school too. Well it was brought to me yesterday with an issue, any USB device they tryed in it didn't work, I too have tryed several devices and none have been reconised including 3 different flash drives. The USB drivers appear fine and have worked up until recently. The device is enabled and "working correctly" according to device manager. ALso on boot a warning is displayed "launch.exe stopped working" altho having a google around for what this launch.exe exactly is has proved unsuccesful.

Ive had days where ive been over but not many, still had takeaways, some energy drinks (monster) and pub grub too but normly eat very little of a day, breakfast- 1.5 weetabix and semi skimmed milk, lunch either some soup in a flask or wholewheat bap with some chicken or turkey and low salt butter. Drink mainly water sometimes a few cups of tea. One advantage I have is I dont drink

I brought a set of good digital scales first off (we didnt have any in the house) and weighed in at 260lbs / 18.5stone / 117KG Now down to 246.5lbs as of yesterdays weigh-in, im also using a website to track my intake Free Calorie Counter, Diet & Exercise Journal | MyFitnessPal.com which tracks calories, sodium, sugar. Another great thing about the site is its android and iphone free app which lets you enter on the move quickly and scan most item barcodes. I aim for under 1600cals per day which I almost always achive, ive almost completly cut out pop often go 4-5 days without any and I only ever have diet when I do, drinking loads of water instead plus it keeps you feeling full. If im working out its a little more My current workout has been using my xbox kinect and two fitness games, yourshape and biggest loser, both track your daily and yourshape lets you view results on their website and create loss challanges against friends! Also enquired about the gym next door to this school during my lucn break today too but its expensive and 35miles from my house, was planning on going during lunch breaks and after school a few times per week. My local gym is £60 less per year with better equiptment.

Google sketup is prob the best idea, I dont plan on it being 100% to scale or being of great detail just enough to use for refrence now and then if needed and get a better understanding of the layout.

Im looking at creating a floorplan for the entire school with all networking details, points, cabs and computers labeled, both for my refrence and future refrence that ill be printing out on A3. Could anyone recommend any software to use for this?

Yep Audis in genral have a very high premium both in purchase price (they keep their value well, for an 05-06 tdi with decent milage im looking 7k+ where golfs around 6k+ and fiesta 5k+. I did some reading on the Fabia Vrs and it seems pretty dam good to be fair, reviewers are all for it and rate everything about it, it packs a real little punch too and will out perform the FR, I would expect simular issues with the fabia as the ibiza tho with the same underpinnings and designed as a "Cheaper VW" but ive not read any bad bits on reliablity/build quality. The new fabia VRS's are very nice, tho for my budget (£5000 or less depending how much I get for my focus) I'm looking at the older styled 1.9 tdi vrs with 130bhp, 0-60 9.5. I knew seat had build issues in the past but I didnt think they were this recent! I think comparing those two pictures even the fiesta looks much better and having two friends who have owned fiestas (an 05 and an 07) but they were both 1.25 zetecs, they were a fun, nippy little car with good room for a vehicle of its size and well equipt with modern tech. Up till last september I had an 03 115 zetec tdci focus which was great and had full climate pack, half leathers,AC,alloys, nice stero etc, this 06 studio doesnt even have central locking and came with a tape player! SO a zetec-s would be a nice upgrade both in luxury terms and fun (its going to be more fun on the country roads to and from work then the same powers much heavier focus i'd expect)

Im looking to change my car in a few months times im looking around the 5k mark and diesel as I do around 60miles per day for work Currently I have a ford focus studio tdci 1.6 06 plate with 113k on the clock, its not the most powerful thing around but its still pulls nice and reliable as a brick sh*t house. Im after something abit smaller too... So my two favourite choices for reasonable milage and around an 05 plate are an Ibiza diesel (have looked at the FR but insurance isnt great) and the fiesta zetec-s tdci which has good style, simular engine to the focus, low insurance (group 6) £30 a year tax and brilliant fuel economy, over 50mpg urban, over 10mpg more then the ibiza. What would you guys choose? I've also looked into MK5 golfs but they are very bland if there a none GT tdi I think, the polo comes across as a more girly car (and the GF owns ones lol) ive owned a clio which I hated with a passion, Leon is abit pricey again id rather get an FR if that was the case, C2 too small, C3 too bubbly.... 05> Honda civics abit big, better speced focus was another idea (a titanium 2.0 diesel maybe) but I fancy change... Its given on the answerphone messege currently in use on their normal tech support phone number while he is away. Ive created the MSI again using a new license which has been activated and network license viewer actually ran this time so I can see how many license's are left and what they have been distributed too. I do however have another strange issue (more an MSI then autograph one I think) the path for the .msi is appearing different on my workstation then configured on GPO adding \autograph 3.3\ RSOD ran on my workstation results- GPO on server results-

We currently have 32 cisco aironet 1140 AP's around our school and a 5508 Controller, the system was installed before I started working here but there are issues, the APs are supposdly able to support 15 laptops each but its rare we can get a full class set of 15 on at once, even then we have more then 1 AP within range and balancing was configured during the setup. I decided to take a look at the controller to see if I could figure what was causing this, its rare but sometimes all 15 will connect, other times only 12 etc... Well to be honest i've no idea what half this stuff on the wireless controller is, could anyone help me with some support/ advice on this problem? Thanks,

Ours are two seperate servers but they are connected to eachother, mainly for resources and printers, we also run a 2 vlans for admin and curric.

Thanks carvjo but i've already changed the reg license location path to the correct one and im still having an unlicense autograph. I cant confirm that the .lic files is licensed as the network license check tool wont run Ill just redo a fresh install with a NEW .lic and try that

ok even when the license location is changed in the registry the problem still remains, and performing the msi edit they told me to just deletes the license locaiton from any future installs so you would need to enter it manually on each computer (but that doesn't work either). Really hate this sofware and its poor design, bad bugs and false information on how to fix them

sorry to revive this old topic but incase it wasnt solved I had a simular issue today and was also puzzled that this file didnt exist on the server. Log on locally/admin and remove the users local profile, problem solved for us hope others do too.

Thanks very much, ive already made a small list of improvents that could be made, sorted some outstanding issues with certain software and im also concerned with physical security of some equiptment , mainly laptops we have about 10 keys missing from a variety of differnt laptops now and with budget cuts here there and everywhere we are telling teachers basically to keep an eye on who is using the laptop, note any damaged before the lesson and after and keep an eye on pupils. Software distribution has up till now also been 100% images then indvidual installs but im changing some over to MSI soon, and removing some unneeded logon scripts and using GPO insted. Thankfully ive been left some good study guides from NEOS in Worcester on server 03, AD and GP. Also there are no bios passwords on over 350 systems -_- thats going to be fun, I never even thought of checking thinking they would of locked that down soon as equiptment is installed but days after starting we had a HDD password set by a pupil. Also pushing for a smoothwall install rather then our current cachepilot and county filtering.

As someone new to a tech role im taking alot on such as learning alot of the schools setup and my first experience in networking. I have been full time for 2weeks now and previously part time for a month, most of my daily tasks include sorting out software, attending to any issues around the school (the usual stuff). What would you recommend I look into in terms of progression, what did you do your first time in a tech role? My previous work experience is only retail enviroments with computer repairs and certification wise i've recently taken part 1 of an A+ certification with part 2 booked.

Hey guys, im Tom age 21 from Wolverhampton and i'm pretty new to the whole tech life! I graduated from University last year in Computer science, during my studies I worked for a high street retailer selling computer games and electrical equipment until March 2010 when I began working in a very small computer services store in a rather rural location so business was fairly slow. Since mid December 2010 I have been working part-time in Ludlow school and began full time employment this year. With no previous experience in the area and taking over from a previous technician who didn't leave much in terms of documentation the friendly network administrator has guided me and teaching me well. Everyone here seems incredibly knowledgeable so don't be surprised if I ask lots of questions
