  1. It works doing it as you are and what I usually did, copy over the files, upload the database, make the changes and you are off and running. However, I came across Akeeba Backup at http://www.akeebabackup.com/ and have been using it ever since. It basically backs everything up and you upload the zip file on the new server, extract it, and go to the directory and you will be directed to the installed and it will walk you right through it. Makes it a lot faster that moving everything over yourself.
  2. You can find the moodle theme right on the moodle site. Go to their themes section and search edugeek and you should be able to find it pretty fast as that is where I found it. I did some template edits on it as I changed around the menu a bit and had to fix a couple of things but otherwise it was just fine out of the box.
  3. The theme does not seem to be openly available anymore. I ended up taking the theme it was based on and making it match the one that was made along with a few additional module positions that I needed. We will be launching our moodle theme in the next week or two since we are now into the summer so that our site looks the same across the board. It is no problem having joomla and moodle match but the main issue is finding the joomla version of the theme or else take what is out there and adapt it yourself if you are able, or if all else fails pay someone to do it for ya.
  4. Can you post a link or a screenshot? Is the rectangle an image or something in the css?
  5. I don't think a version was actually made for 1.5 of that theme. I am currently using that theme on our district site with 1.0 but will be soon upgrading to 1.5, however, I couldn't find the template that was released based on the rokwebify so I had to basically recreate the template myself. It really is not too hard to do if you have some basic coding skills, might be something to look into, manually converting the template yourself.
  6. Thanks for the feedback. The main reason I put the news under the main content is to keep the space used up contained, otherwise the sidebar will be huge with very little content in the middle section. We will normally have a bunch of stuff listed under the news, just not until the site gets moved over and goes live. Good suggestion about the panning effects. It looked good when I had the images stretched fully across the top but once I added in the position for Emergency Closure Info it is quite distracting now that you mention it. Thanks!
  7. The part of the server this domain is on has been having some minor issues here and there, if interested just try it later and it should work fine. Sorry for the issue and thanks for taking a look!
  8. I am currently running our school site on the old 1.0 Edugeek template and I am currently upgrading our site to 1.5. I have it running on my own server right now as I am doing a lot of custom work on the site. I wasn't able to find this theme for 1.5 so I took the rokwebify template and modified it to match the edugeek version and then did some additional adjustments as I needed a few additional module positions. The site is not finished yet but would love to hear any and all feedback, constructive criticism, etc.. Just remember it's not finished yet..lol. Thanks in advance! M.S.A.D. #42 - Mars Hill, ME
  9. Joomla 1.5 does not offer much control at all for usergroups. This is a major part of 1.6 which should be out towards the end of the year or summer as they are close to the first beta. There are some addons which are okay but not great in my opinion and if you are looking for free things, nothing really good then. 1.6 is going to be a massive leap forward and allow you to really control things how you are wanting which you really can't do in 1.5.
  10. I would also love to get this template. I am using the template it is based on and just about have it completely working and looking like this template but I can not for the life of me get the slideshow to appear and work. I have tried template edits using everything I can think of with no luck. I would be much appreciated to get this template or if someone has access to files, at least get the index.php, templatedetails.xml, and the CSS files. Either the fiels or actual theme would be extremely appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
