Tell me about it, I really need to ind a solution but I am stumped. I am not allowed to add any software so that blew my third party software out of the window but the heads still want to maintain access to intranet and network so cant just remove access all together. Any other ideas please help. :-) Any more info on setting black/white lists on multiple PC's?

Sorry, prob should have said straight away, I CANNOT buy or use any third party software. It HAS to be something found within windows XP, do able across many PC's easily and not involve the proxy. So far the best idea is content advisor but that is fine on one PC but not really scaleable across the network, that I know of! Thanks for all the help so far.

How can I add the black/white list to all PC's across the network without having to go to each one? An no, I cannot get rid of the software, long story but no, i cant.

Hi All, I need to find a way to block users accessing the internet but still allow access to the intranet. The thing is it cant involve using Proxy settings as we have some software accessable to the users that will reset the proxy. Also needs to be easily done to alot of PC's over the network Any ideas are more than welcome as we are a bit stuck here. Thanks all

Hi All, I am wanting to attach a printer via USB locally to my thin clients and then be able to print to it from Server 2003 Terminal Services session. Is this possable and if so, any ideas how to achieve it.

I will do my best to explain my data structure a little better but I cannot reveal any of my live data, sorry. I have one Excel file with the following headings - First Name Logon Name Last Name Department City Street State Country Company Zip Code Office Business Phone otherTelephone Description Title And another Excel spread sheet with the following headings - Employee Number Surname Initial Forename Title Extension Department Building Department Number I need to add the extention column from the second sheet into the first sheet but making sure it stays with the right names. So the result would be that John Smith for exapmle in sheet one has the phone number from John Smith in sheet 2. FYI they are not into same order so cant just copy and paste, there are entries in sheet one that are not in sheet2. Does that make it any clearer?

Does anyone have a forula they think might work, I am not overly familiar qwith Excel so any help would be great.

They are not in the same order in each file tho. I need something like = If Sheet2!A2=Sheet1!A2, Sheet1!E2=Sheet2!E2 So if the names match copy the number across but the fomula wont work and it needs to apply to all colums not just the ones types in the formula

Hi all, I need to merge the phone numbers in one excel file into a second file or worksheet within the same file, which ever is easiest. Problem is i need to make sure they copy to the same user so that gary in file one gets garys number from file 2? Any ideas

so basic .doc files for instance can be compressed more than complex mp4's for example?

hi, I am just looking at our backups and it seems that I can only have a compression ratio of 1.2:1 not the maximum advertised of 2:1. Has anyone else found this or know a fix thanks all

Geoff, are you saying that vista is meant to cache all but 50mb of my RAM? It may well be right and I just havent noticed bewfore but it might be a prob and I would love to know which

I have got vista X64, sorry should have said that. I uninstalled a load of unused software and didnt get a blue screen yesterday both memtest86+ and the vista boot up mem test reported no errors so maybe a dodgy bit of software was my issue, lets hope anyway. I guess the only thing to do now is wait and see unless anyone knows of any good testing/diagnostic tools I could run just to confirm that everything is happy.

I keep getting blue screens at the moment for a variety of reported reasons. Having done a bit of detective work I found that vista was reporting my RAM in task manager as 4093 available, 3158 cached and 53 free. (4Gb installed by the way) Is this right or is it a potential problem. If it is a prob anyone got any ideas what the solution might be? (no prizes for first person to say go to XP ) Cheers for the help all

HI all, Has anyone set SIMS up on a workstation with the Microsoft document viewer not full word. I have got it all installed but it seems not to like it.

please help I cant get a gpo to apply - the gp results wizard says it is not being applied becuase it is empty but it isnt. when the user logs on through terminal services the policies are not active. as you can see from the uploaded screen dump I have got the remote test user in the remote users OU with the polict applied and enforced on that OU any ideas Thanks

IF by Beefier you mean faster then no. The celeron M is for notebooks and as a result needs to run cooler than desktop cpu's. This in turn mean less speed (in general that is, I am sure there are exception to the rule) The P4 from what you have written is a desktop 2Ghz compared to 1.6Ghz so will be better. hope that helps

Does anyone else find it infuriating that some updates/patches come from Solus and others are emailed out. It is fairly obvious that the patches are going to have to end up at a school so why not use Solus Opinoins wanted please
